That doesn't tell the whole story though. Throughout the 80's teams were averaging closer to 90 FGA while that number dipped below 80 for much of the 1990's and is still in the low 80s in the present day. There were also more free throw attempts.

The overall FG% in the 80's was higher than it is now but the 3-point% has increased over time. No surprise the midrange game is looking

Bird could of gotten off in this day of age.

I point to "non athletic" white guys such as Chandler Parsons and Mike Dunleavy to be getting there's (Dunleavy a few years ago) and they have 1/10 of the skills Bird had.

if Dirk can be a hall of famer 1st ballot, surely Bird can had he played in this day and age.

Look at Bird's last season in the league and he was playing w/a shytty back

I understand and agree with what you were trying to do but Parsons will be twice the player that Dunleavy is and is about twice as athletic. If you used somebody like Pat Garrity I'd understand.
