basically bowe beating holyfield the first time is no different than douglas beating tyson..they were special one in a lifetime performances from where they all put it together and they never really reached that peak again..the last fight with holyfield he was lucky to win that one because holyfield had the hep..holyfield almost knocked him out..tyson had an era of domination and cleaned out his division before holyfield became a factor at HW..a long reign is more an example of consistency than a short one in most cases
Tyson had a reign of 3 years, in which he fought no one the level of holyfield though.
As for Bowe and HOlyfield, stop diminishing Bowe's accomplishment, it wasn't luck that he won the first, it showed you his true heart and skill when dedicated. To try to take away the 3rd fight and his win on HOlyfield having /hep, come on breh, stop that, Bowe won, he did what he had to win he got up from his knockdown and took it right back to Evander and finished the job. Don't try to deny him like that to attack him to make a case for tyson. Tyson and Bowe's actions and lack of dedication stands on its own for both

i know the 80s heavies breh..if they are inferior what do you do...you clean them out..he took belts off 3 champs and the lineal title..this is the same argument i have defending wlad..i didnt say the first holyfield fight was luck only the third fight and it was luck..nothing good came out of that fight for bowe...he sure as hell didnt beat holyfield because of his own skill or conditioning in that fight lol..its known holyfield had the hep for that fight...he shouldnt even have been fighting and still struggled with him

I havent knocked Tyson for winning, he did what he was supposed to do, my only argument is his ranking as a top ATG HW. That is it.
That said again I have to give Wlad his respect, even though I think he did some questionable shyt against even worse opponenants than Tyson faced, especially letting Vitali fight guys who beat him or posed problems on some tag team shyt..
That said Bowe did beat Holyfield by his own skill and conditioning, he knocked Holyfield down and then finished him, period. If Holyfield couldn't take the fight, he shouldn't have gotten in the ring, but he did and he showed amazing heart as well, but Bowe bested him, period.

I have no doubt evander is probably the source of the brain damage that Bowe has today and probably beat the want to be a pro fighter out of him as well, because he wasn't the same after the 2nd fight, that said, he deserves the praise for winning that fight, thats all I'm saying, don't try to act like it was some fluke shyt or take away from Bowe for KO'ing HOlyfield like he did

If you are talking about Tyson, he didn't dominate for 9 years in the slightest.
Got his title mid 86 lost to Douglas early 90 and that was it for his "reign"

He is above holyfield and foreman in title reigns. He's top 10 in title bout wins and defending his title. Stop with the hate. Dude was the face of boxing and revolutionized it. That's not being over rated at all

Doesn't have the resume of Holyfied or Foreman though. Yeah he is top 10 in title bouts, congrats, who were those title bouts against? His resume is too thin to ever be put in the upper echoelon of heavyweights.

He didn't revolutionize boxing at all, name what he revolutionized about boxing? riving Cus's old style isn't revolutionizing anything. He was a young face in the 80s in an era of mass marketing, much like Jordan, and he benefited from that new media age. That is about it. As for boxing he didn't add anything or change anything about the sport. He didn't win against a single ATG he fought and he had a short reign at the top, it is what it is.

See niccas in here talking dumb about Tyson smh..He's an ATG period

On topic of those Tyson-Ruddock fights..why didn't Ruddock use his jab :mindblown:

Those Tyson body shots :damn:

After Cus passed & Atlas & Rooney left you can tell all of Tyson's defensive principles went out the window & he was just getting by on sheer punching power & he was still top 5 in the heavyweight division :wow:

this is what ruddock's problem was...he had a good jab..especially coming up but he fell in love with his power as he was knocking cats out..if he used it more..esp in the rematch..he prolly wouldn't have taken as much damage as he did..he literally went bomb for bomb for 12 rounds with mike tyson..which is insane

fight is still the dopest shyt for our era as far a hw and totally delivered.
I tell people about this fight all the time and Tyson's chin. When people bring up mike losing. Or saying mike had no chin.

I feel if you wanna watch mike fight.
this is the fight series to watch.

as he was undisciplined from leaving Rooney but just bout it before bout it was mainstream in this fight.

gem of a series to watch.
