I don't think Westbrook cares about any of those things. He seems like he just wants to play basketball and win, and do it on the biggest stage possible. LA meets the biggest stage possible criteria, but they'd barely be a playoff team whereas with Boston he'd be on one of the biggest stages and probably playing Cleveland in the ECF in his 1st season there. I'm no Celtics fan just looking at it objectively.

There's no shot he's re-signing with OKC they should at least try to get a young player and a draft pick or two for him. It's pretty much the only shot they have at avoiding a decade+ in the lottery.

And he shouldn't.

Financially it makes very little sense to sign an extension because you're limited in what you can get. You're basically leaving money on the table. You can get way more by opting out and signing a new deal. Why would any player wanna limit the amount of money they can make?
