:yeshrug:

You're not going to get a star player via FA, that will most likely come from the Nets picks, may as well lock up a starting center under 28 years old.

thats the best reason to spend the max on him..we're utah status. cant forget our trade exceptions too. we got a shyt ton of them.

our 27 mil space is pyrite though. we have a ton FAs and we're going to have interest in a bunch of them..we really gotta see what theyre asking for in $. if ainge can keep 2-3 of them and be left over with 16-18m space then thats a success

i was the first to bring up tobias :sas1:

low-key we need another legit ball handler. pressey is ass. thomas is a keeper but bradley/turner are sloppy with the ball too much. turner played well this year so i dont mind him handling every now and then as point-forward but we get pick pocketed too much and have too many dumb turnovers. rondo for the MLE :troll:

id offer deandre the max for 3 years and an option. he fits the squad perfect but for some reason im hesitant :patrice:Aldridge is not a possibility and neither is Gasol.

Plus Stevens likes to run up and down the court with quick bigs so I dont think Gasol would be a great fit. Thats one of the reasons why i cooled on a Big Al return as well.

Id prefer to grab Stein in the draft via trade-up and spend dough elsewhere than Jordan (not convinced of prolonged durability)...but Id definitely be happy signing Jordan dont get me wrong. I also hope and expect Ainge to contact PP for a one year swansong. We could use the clutch scoring anyway.

Re: Tobias....great minds think alike.

As for the rest of your post, there's def merit to what you're saying. I don't want Aldridge nor Jefferson. I agree that neither would fit our team's needs.

DeAndre is limited offensively but he would single-handedly improve our defense and on-court intensity. I would think he would want a longer contract though (even if we offer him max money). But I suppose it wouldn't hurt to try.

I can see your point about Gasol. I think he's the best player in this free agency market. He could however struggle in an up - tempo offense but I wouldn't mind experimenting with him. But I am worried a little about his (and Jordan's) durability. I like him though because he's a legit 2 way center with a good mid-range game, good passing, and excellent defense

Do you think it's feasible for us to get Stein? We'd have to make some moves and he's highly coveted.

Hell yeah it is. Ive been advocating it all season and I think he goes somewhere 5-10. Porzingis would be a coup as well imo but Stein is more of a sure thing.

Phil said he wants a defensive minded center but also that he'd be more likely to trade his pick if they drop to 5. He could draft Stein there or trade down. I dont want to overspend in a trade against a division rival though. Either way, a lot of teams need cheap depth and thats why 16+28 are a valuable combo. Ainge will probably want to keep one pick and just add player(s) to move up but who knows. I could also see him trading out of 28 into the second round for $ reasons. We arguably have too much depth and actually need to start clearing roster space now and for years down the road with our additional picks.

Thomas, Smart, Pressey
Bradley, Young, Babb
Turner, Wallace
Lobo, Sully
Zeller

Off the top id waive Pressey/Babb (2mil). That leaves 6 roster spots.

Re-sign goals: As much as I love Bass, hes not coming back unless its a deal starting at 8 and thats something we cant afford. Have to wait and see on Crowder's injury. Id bring back both Jerebko and Gigi if we can keep Jerebko around 2.5-4m and Gigi at 1.5 and trade at-least 1 of Sully/Lobo. I think Gigi goes back to Europe though.

FA Targets:

Center: Jordan, Monroe(?), Asik, Lopez, Koufos, Ajinca, Kuzmic (descending salary)

Ill work on the rest later im hungry

Only problem is that every team wants to do that. We're not going to be able to compete with the heavy hitters in FA which would make going hard this year more logical. Every team is gonna have space next year..the teams that had already planned for it and the teams that got bailed out by cap-raise. If we can re-sign one or two guys on cheap deals this year with or without a team option for next year then we re-tain some of that space and we also have the albatross of wallace finally gone which is an additional 10m. We could also take advantage of the next year hype by taking money back with trade exceptions.

The Celtics were waiting for July, and the chance to let coach Brad Stevens lay out Love's expanded role in his system. General manager Danny Ainge wanted a chance to sell Love on a vision for surrounding him with complementary talent, on maximizing his popularity as New England's next star. And so, suddenly, maybe everything changed on Sunday. Kelly Olynyk and Love tangled, Love's left shoulder apparently separated and clearly he's beyond furious. He called the play "bush league," and insisted that Olynyk "did it on purpose."
