What a loss. This hit me in my gut when I heard it. At the Sun Ra Arkestra concert a couple of weeks ago the leader Marshall Allen was out sick. Enjoy your legends while they are still here.
We're getting real close to losing all of the last jazz greats from that era. Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock are two of the last left.

RIP

Good to see he was appreciated in his last years, That Floating Points LP was received extremely well.
Only heard that floating points joint recently when I was digging through his older shyt for samples.

That was a truly spiritual experience.

RIP legend.

RIP Pharaoh, over the past 3 years, I've purchased almost all off his albums on vinyl. This is a giant loss to the culture.

Love You, Pharaoh

This is what gets me, this disregard and disrespect towards actually our legends and a real vanguard. Not one off these so-called urban media platforms even mentioned this man, and even Mtume's passing.

This remake of Coltrane's Equinox be giving me life for real. I love to listen to Coltrane's first and then Pharaoh's and marvel at the genuis of both legends.
