You need to get a police report or at least file one. That is the first step. Try to remember what happened and document it. Like what time you think you were crossing the street, location, what the other car looked like etc.

I wrote everything down in the hospital and just saw that someone posted about it in the neighborhood blog with the video (posted in OP).

I have insurance I just have never been in a non car on car accident before

oh shyt, you in Detroit…that’s no fault…you should have PIP from your insurance, you can get a check from them…don’t know what the amount in Michigan would have to be to go after their insurance

good so since you seem to have a little sense about you, i'll give you some advice (although im not a legal expert).

you can use other coverage for pedestrian accidents. have them bill your health insurance (this will save you money once you get a settlement or if you don't get a settlement, there will be more money in your pocket after medical expense deductions) or if you carry medical payments coverage on your vehicle you can use that for pedestrian accidents. it all depends on what type of coverages you have.
