As a guy who has seen the whole thing play out.

Gucci's influence is not necessarily a musical one but more so how he played the rap game.

From a street level to a business level. Its more about how he moved and how his career played out.

Thug himself said on Tip's podcast that nobody is really influenced by Gucci musically. That its more so lifestyle wise. The street shyt, the boss shyt, the drip and iced out shyt, the fukking with the new nikkas shyt etc..

Him and Tip both said that Wayne is prolly more of a influence on him and Future and ATL than Gucci n em.

Me myself I am a fan of alot of Gucci's tapes dude is a underrated rapper foreal. Dude did have direct influence on Chief Keef tho.

without Gucci none of the people you named would exist, and I’m not even a fan of him.

Same ol gump southern rap arguments.

Why dont you tell us about a party from 12 years ago where they played a bunch of gucci songs? :mjlol: goes better on a rap resume than "classic album" anyway right?

nikka we don’t give a fukk what yall bum ass nikkas think. When was the last time NY had a relevant rap opinion?

I don’t even think he’s a good rapper. But the fact that you made a whole thread to discuss his catalog shows that yall are clueless.

People call him a legend but lets be real there's no classic albums. Dude made multiple runs at being a mainstream artist and didnt cash in until a Bruno Mars feature. Their perception is made by nostalgia of parties and DVD era street gossip.

Truth is it was a fad. Just like Dipset and rocking pink.

10 years from now brehs gonna be trying to put their kids on and make those poot children sit through shyt like this

And while you :banderas: reminiscing about the pretty bytch from 20 years standing by the bar wishing then DJ would play a different song, your poor child gonna be like

:mjtf: "what kinda drugs were yall on back then"

honestly facts from a mainstream level looking at tours, album sales and singles. But gucci was heavily influential for a lot of newer artists.

interesting

Outside of the messing with new nikkas, I feel like jeezy did everything underlined better on a major scale than jeezy, maybe bc thug and company could see gucci more often compared to a jeezy or even T.I.

Gucci was regarded as Young Thug status right before he went to jail. Ignorant rapper who might have a body on him

alot of folks didn't take him seriously as a rapper besides southern trap fans. Nicki roasted the shyt out of him and everyone laughed along. But anyone can shine in this era

this was my shyt in 11th grade though :banderas:

Future and Migos are Gucci’s offspring though :hhh:

And every rapper is a blood now because of Dipset. Dipset put Wayne on the blood, red rag shyt

So? Gucci is offspring of 8ball and Mjg. Nobody gives a fukk

Future music don't sound like Gucci's outside of some overlap with producers. Fact. You can hear the influence in music from Future & Migos. Nobody emulating prime gucci "stoopid frooty swagg" mushmouth raps. The only lasting influence of Gucci is the infatuation with the crash test dummy lifestyle.

Your favorite rappers legacy is vicarious success through nikkas younger & more talented than him? :mjlol: you proud of that?
