Can't believe people think Tatum's better than Brown. Mostly the Boston cac fan base, we all know why.
Tatum is a better basketball player on the whole, but there are things that Jaylen does better. He's a better scorer at the rim, significantly so in the mid-range, better driving the ball. He's an actual three level scorer while Tatum is a two level scorer. He's better grabbing the tough contested rebounds. He's a quick fire starter for the team. He's a better athlete and he hustles more, covers more ground on offense and defense and generally gives more effort.
Jaylen improves in the playoffs. His true shooting has improved in every playoffs he's been in with the exception of his rookie year where it stayed the exact same as the regular season. His three point percentage is much higher in the playoffs than it is in the regular season. This is not the case with Tatum. It's gone the opposite way for him. He's had one postseason where his TS% has improved.
Tatum is a better spot up shooter, he's a better shooter on corner threes whereas Jaylen is better above the break. He's a better free throw shooter. He's better at flying in and grabbing rebounds in a Westbrookian fashion, whereas Jaylen will block his man out and let another teammate grab them. He's a better playmaker. While I think Jaylen is a better pure passer, Tatum has better vision when making passes. Tatum has a more secure handle which is the real difference between the two and probably why he ends up getting almost 19 more touches per game in these playoffs.
