For me, being called a great on-ball defender means consistent great defense...night in & night out. Yes, Kobe has many possessions where he has locked down an offensive player, even full games over the course of his career, but he's never done it on a consistent, nightly basis where I'd call him a great defender in the same vein as a Jordan or Pippen....or an Artest/Allen. Same with Bron.

I equate "great defenders" with lockdown defenders. That's just my opinion though:manny:

Who did MJ consistently lock down night in and night out in the playoffs? :gucci:


And Bron has consistently played great playoff defense night in and night out.
