Why would you need 5 billion? Player salaries is my only answer. Is this a summer league where NBA players can play? If not, you get players who can’t make it to the NBA, Euroleague, and Aussie league.

Who want to see bums play?

Rich people have money to burn. Maverick is going to charge his fee and give rich CACs the best “advice” he can. Unless Bron will play the first season and get Curry to ride with him.
:mjlol:
Name 15 global NBA stars right now. You can’t. People want to say NBA is worldwide, which it is, but the most famous players behind the top 5 do not have the juice.

Imagine paying Derozen 30M to come play in your league.
:mjlol:
Do you think you can poach an Anthony Edwards type player with money to play in some Saudi world wide league? I guess they did it with soccer. They tried with golf and got the PGA to acknowledge them.

It’ll work if you can get 20% of the top 50 NBA players and not just the bottom of that 50.
Zion would be there number one player. N.O. trying to void his contract, if they can’t trade him. I doubt Zion cares about the NBA more than his bank account. Bron’s league offer him 250Ms for five years he is taking it and sitting on the bench.

Call him Bron, I mean Mav, I mean rich CACs, I mean Saudis.
:damn:
He will answer.

Ben Simmons will be the number two. Lance Stevenson still playing ball? Maybe they can pick Cooper Flagg with a big contract.

What does this even mean? The best basketball players from around the world already play in the NBA.

Who would make up this international league? It would just be a bunch of average to below-average players from around the world.

How would that be different from any other international league?

They're probably banking on being able to attract top players from the NBA with money. No salary caps I'm assuming.

I don't see any top 10 player electing to go play in this league even for the money. The competition just won't be there.

Maybe I'm being pessimistic. Stranger things have happened.

Another strategy could be to invest in markets with talent and bring up the level of competition to the point teams in this league can go against the best in the NBA. That would be something.

I think he's his idea for the proposed league is for the less fortunate around the world who want to play basketball but don't have the means or resources to do so :yeshrug: basically the athletes who couldn't make the leagues in their respective countries.

It's not going to be current NBA stars or players; rather, this is Bron trying to expand his influence and resources to the less fortunate of the world.

In a way, you could say this is a pickup league with unknowns and average to above-average everyday types of players making money. Remember, the NBA and basketball, in general, are the most popular sports in the world, especially within the poor and less fortunate (Third World) countries where basketball leagues, proper resources, and whatnot aren't available.
