I'd say Iverson had more love and impact than Kobe or Shaq at the time. The swagger, the way he talked, the way he dressed, his attitude. Let's not forget Kobe had to deal with some people feeling he was soft or "talked/acted white" for some time. I vividly remember being more into Kobe and Duncan than Iverson because their personalities were more like mine. But all of my friends were on the Iverson wagon.

Kobe at times felt like someone trying to be Jordan, and no one can be Jordan (in large part due to the media myth of him). Iverson was like fukk that shyt I'm gonna be me.
AI was the king.

Even in LA leading up to the repeat AI was popping. I watched Laker games and made sure to check out what AI did, I tried to learn his crossover,I wanted to buy his jersey, he was on the cover of 2K. his shoe was killing it, we bootlegged his rap CD, I knew a white boy who straight up said "I'm a Laker fan, but I'm an Iverson fan first" :wow:he was a one man army. Watching that man get buckets and throw himself onto the court to make circus shots was inspiring. Even the NBC announcers called him a Warrior. I still remember who Eric fukking Snow is because of that man,

In retropsect and overall Kobe is the GAWD. But in the early 2000s it was AI's world.

Sports make people stupid. Everyone has to be hot or cold. AI was the most entertaining player I've ever watched. He was THE most emulated outside of Jordan and was the most culturally relevant to black folks. We was all at the park practicing crossovers and the spin move he did in that one commercial. He wasn't the BEST player of his era and his style of play was not conducive to winning on a championship level unless his teammates were fit perfectly around him (just saying he wasn't like a lot of stars who could've thrived in multiple situations). But who cares? He was that dude. He made basketball even more fun and that's why we watched

inefficient chuckers who don't take practice seriously and go out and take 30 shots to get 30 points are god figures now??

:mjlol:
The most out of context comment in the history of sports.

Cacs love not mentioning this part of the same "Practice rant":

"Im upset for one reason: 'Cause I'm in here. I lost. I lost my best friend. I lost him, and I lost this year. Everything is just going downhill for me, as far as just that. You know, as far as my life. And then I'm dealing with this. ... My best friend is dead. Dead. And we lost. And this is what I have to go through for the rest of the summer until the season is all over again."

He's basically saying, "I just found out my friend got killed and you fukking people are talking about practice."

People who bring up the practice rant as a negative towards Iverson are either c00ns or filthy cacs in my opinion.

he's right. ai was relatable to most black kids coming up back in the day. dude was the epitome of playing with heart and leaving it all on the floor. plus the adversity he dealt with his whole life. never sacrificed his character either.

i had a few pair of iversons, but got to salute dominique and dee brown for helping to put reebok on the map and keep them relevant.

I'm not a real Bron fan but he doesn't need to name drop to stay relevant. I thought the Kang got his crown snatched by KD/Curry/GSW and isn't the best anymore according to thecoli and other haters. If so, why so many posts on here still involve Bron?

breh you would think lebron stole these nikkas girl with the way they act
