No matter what they say, that was the plan all along. LeBron was never going to get free agents, and they were never going to be bad enough to get players like Kyrie Irving and Andrew Wiggins to trade for Kevin Love. So the plan was to go to Miami for a few seasons, and come back to Cleveland after they get their draft picks up. The NBA was definitely involved in this as well, which is why they got two or three number one picks, and the number 4 pick in the draft in Tristan Thompson. Matter of fact, they pretty much got #1 draft picks every year since LeBron left LOL. I think everybody forgot about Anthony Bennett. He was a top draft pick

Exactly. Them drafts were as fishy as orlando getting the first pick the year after they got shaq.

False.

LeBron teamed up with Wade and Bosh to guarantee himself a ring.

Durant teamed up with Curry, Klay and Draymond to guarantee himself a ring.

THAT is the similarity, and its a big one.

Yes Miami was a middling team before the big three formation and GSW was a 73-9 team (that beat KD's team) before KD joined.

Yes that makes the two scenarios different.....

BUT at the core of both player's decision is that similarity - guranteeing the highest possibility of rolling off multiple championships.

A similarity ya'll Bron fanboys fail to acknowledge despite it being obvious to everyone else. Vilify KD all you want for his move. Just stop pretending LeBron "not 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7" James wasn't ring chasing when he took his talents to South Beach. He 100% was and there's nothing wrong with that. Great players need championship hardware to validate their position in the history of the sport. It is what it is.
This

How does somebody even try to pretend otherwise

That's flat out revisionist history

the ether
Does everyone really believe that Durant was going to be happy living out the rest of his career having to play with Westbrook doing Westbrook things just because Lebron didn't go to Miami?

That shyt don't make no sense at all.

Here are the questions I would like answered:
1. Is Lebron really the first superstar player to chase rings by joining strong teams and stacking?
2. Have team owners themselves chased rings by attempting to stack the strongest squad possible?

Thanks :salute:

This what both Bron and KD did and that's why the situations are ultimately the same. The circumstances are irrelevant
Durant played with Westbrook, Harden, Ibaka and Jeff Green.

Compare that to the best thing LeBron had in Cleveland during his first stint.

The ''circumstances'' and ''context'' do matter in every situation. That's like saying Robert Horry and Tim Duncan are on the same level cause of their ring count. Oh yeah, I forgot it's about LeBron so common sense goes out the window.

Never said you had a problem just pointing out your stupidity. Remember you quoted me, caping for the servant. I have no reason to be mad here.

Fax. This wack trend wouldn't have started If it wasn't for Lebron. Bron won cheap championships in his prime by joining two other players in their primes :hhh:
Imagine Bean, MJ or Magic joining up with their conference rivals for cheap rings:hhh:

If Dwight Howard and Wade signed with the Cavs for the minimum this summer there would be novels written full of bytching.

If you add them to the team they already have of course but if they were his
2nd and 3rd options nobody would be bytching

that was already conceded. my position is the circumstances are a lot more relevant than your simplified statement suggests.

again, none of lebron's teams win a title without him. kd going to gs was like dolly parton getting a boob job.

this parker guy is trying to dumb down the comparison to the point where the details don't matter.

no they wouldn't win a title without lebron. you'd have to make some hypothetical about them adding pieces and lebron not adding pieces.

being a "contender" in the east doesn't mean anything other than conceding you'll lose to lebron's teams in the conf finals.

They wouldn't of lost against lebron teams in the conference finals especially if they had the right role players prime wade was a top 3 player in the leauge
