Breh this is a prime example of where stat whores fails. Literally no NBA player would agree bron is a better shooter. That's just ridiculous. You cant use fg% to determine who shoots the ball better because 1) shot selection 2) defensive coverage 3)volume. Think about it like this. If both players were relegated to jumpshooting only, which would be the most effective. If you say bron you truly dont know the game.

I am well aware of all of this. If you want to make an prime for prime argument fair enough. But over the course of a career Lebron has been the better shooter. He's scoring more points taking less shots period.

actually that's the correct strategy.

like, nobody ever went into a game and said "let's sag off Kobe"

But the Spurs did that to Lebron and it worked.

In 2007, he shot like 25% from midrange and three. Spurs gave him 5 feet of space to shoot. That was a winnable series despite the sweep.

in 2011, you know what the Mavs did...

in 2013, his jumper was straight garbage until Game 6. I think he was shooting 39% and 25% from three through the first few games. Why do you think Boris Diaw was having such great success?

in 2015, his jumper was yet again broken but i will give him a pass. no Kyrie or Love and he had a back injury
That’s the correct strategy cause if u play him to close he gone get right pass your ass, then the big man got to step up and that’s gone leave shooter open. He’s vision and finishing at the rim ability’s is so good that u rather give him that shot. Not cause he can’t shoot it

Basically the only thing Kobe was better at than Lebron offensively was midrange jumpshooting

You could also make an argument for on-ball defense, but prime Bron’s help defense was so superior that it’s basically even on that end of the floor, prime for prime

Bron haters hate statistics because they prove all of their fantasy-based arguments are false.

Kobe's reputation as a great shooter and clutch and a killer etc. has never really compared to the reality, while Bron's all-around greatness and atg passing and decision-making tend to cause people to downplay how great of a shooter and scorer he is as well.

Both these phenomenons combine for a lot of bad takes from casuals claiming Kobe was somehow a better 3pt shooter or scorer than Lebron despite literally all of the facts proving the opposite (which wouldnt be any surprise to people that have actually watched both of their careers.)

Kobe played with a lot more passion, which was his strength but also a weakness. If he was having an off day or the defense was playing him right, he’d continue to shoot.
Lebron is more of an analytical dude who would adjust to what’s being thrown at him. He’d completely stop shooting 3s if it’s called for.

I remember the spurs tried that in game 7 of the finals. Lebron killed they ass with the jumper :mjlol:
Let's not act like that strategy wasnt working perfectly for the first 6 games of that series:skip:

They did it that entire series. Let's not act like they ain't have Boris Diaw damn near 18 feet away from LeBron at times

Took the nikka 7 games to finally hit an open jumper:pachaha:

If the Spurs got one more damn rebound:snoop:
