He contributed heavily to them losing the next 2 games including 27 missed 3s in a row

Not to mention, Chris Paul, the best player in that series til the injury, woudn’t have let that shyt happen

“Bag” NBA Twitter conveniently likes to remind everyone about how Harden “almost” beat the Warriors anytime he starts playing like shyt

BallDontStop is ran by an idiot dikkrider

:gucci:
He basically had one great game in that series and it came in a loss. He had 5 turnovers a game and shot 35% from the field in their WINS. 17% from 3 in the 4 quarters. 2-13 from 3 in game 7 (to his credit he did get hoed on some non-calls in that game).

Thing with Harden though is that even if he's having a bad shooting night he's creating a lot of openings for his teammates. So just looking at his shooting splits ain't enough to capture his impact. He was generating lots of double teams which would open up the Rockets for swinging the ball around. He was basically their entire offense. So yes he should get credit for those series going 7.

Man this podcast really does drop some gems here. They are talking about offensive and defensive actions, and how there just simply isn't a good answer to how some of these offensive players are playing

If you blitz or double them they make the right read and players are so good they will hit their open 3's.. everyone is switch heavy now, so players can get the 1v1 matchup that they want easier and when they do get that matchup inevitably they will drive and get help from a teammate which leaves a shooter open from 3

People talk about defense is down now.. but in reality what can you do on the defensive end besides hope that players miss from 3, and switch up your coverages ALOT during the course of the game to throw offenses off
Outside of player empowerment this is one area I feel Lebron doesn't get enough credit legacy wise. IMO nobody hunted mismatches like he did before he started doing it. Now it's become a staple of every team's offense that has a superstar. Yes other teams hunted mismatches but he was the first that started doing it every possession down the floor. I first recognized it while they were playing the Spurs in the finals where he'd do it to get Kawhi off of him. Then against the Warriors he started doing it to try and wear Steph down.

Glad he brought this to light, because bag talk is one of the things that ruins current basketball discourse. Not that "skilled" or players with a "bag" don't matter, they absolutely do. But to put it above all else in a 5 on 5 game you lose me. Jordan Poole has a "bag", but he's a very low IQ player who has been terrible this year when we talk about efficiency, one of the worst this season actually. There's a middle ground to it all obviously, I just hate how some people who only look at the game in an aesthetic manner.

Bruh he was not they entire offense, that’s just a blatant lie, why did the series go to shyt after CP got hurt?

That's fair, I just wouldn't call him "unstoppable" in that series. Which has basically been the knock on his playoff performances throughout his careeer. Rarely delivers the peak performance he routinely does in the regular season.

He despises bag talk cuz he really don’t have a bag.

This is a good point but I just can’t stand the fact it’s him and JJ Reddikk. Like my goodness anybody but him. Reddikk is such a pompous smug mfer you’d think he was anything more than a fukking shooter. He benefits from being white and people assume he’s some genious. He also uses lingo for no fukking reason. I promise you there is no difference in IQ from JJ Reddikk and a Mario charmers. One just brands himself better

And intentionally or not it’s cringey af to watch Bron almost trying to talk up to impress JJ’s lingo heavy “expertise”. It’s gross.

Bron: that was a hammer and nail action
JJ: *nods and smirks condescendingly in fatherly approval*

This is pure basketball talk ..the king is blessing us with this on ep 2

Casuals in shambles :wow:

I’m actually convinced anyone who uses the term ‘pure basketball talk’ ain’t never hooped :heh:

I don’t gaf WHAT Bron talkin bout, the average hooper who spent their whole life playin the game and hearing coaches talk does not want to talk out of bounds plays. He just sees/talks the game different , mixed with a heavy does of tryhard. But it ain’t some indicator of supreme knowledge. It just ain’t.

Other great bball minds don’t talk the game like this: Jason Kidd don’t. Phil Jackson don’t. Hell I’ve heard Ted Winter talk hoops he don’t either. So anyone trying to say ‘this is REAL hoops talk’ I know you full of shyt.

The more I watch this pod the more this moment makes sense
