@Retired Dude read your whole post and couldn't understand what you meant at all, son has gotten so used to repeating himself he can't really think:mjlol:
Damn shame I still gotta repeat myself in 2017 telling ppl something as simple as music has the ability to effect the human psyche huh

But according to @Retired we all get it.

So why am I having to repeat myself in the first place?:patrice:

I always said the exportation of this type of American Pop Culture will have disastrous effects upon those living in third world countries

Well right here is where we're disagreeing. Too many cats on here have told me verbatim that its "just entertainment" and that it has zero affect on the actions of the masses. I can't agree with you that we are aware and always have been. The coli tells me differently.

Are you saying the intentional manipulation of hiphop is a "conspiracy theory"? First you said that we "get it", but now it sounds like your dismissing the "powers that be" who are in actual control of the artform. Do you believe in the "powers that be" and the intentional manipulation of hiphop?

Or are you putting words in my mouth and creating an argument that im not arguing in the first place: that we have no control over what we hear and listen to?

Even if its the latter, its not that simple as "turn off the radio"
I'm saying that people are complacent. become the change you want to see. it is that simple.

when people say its just entertainment they are aware but deflecting from the truth. same reason rappers say they aren't role models. these kids will look up to you no matter how you feel about it. when the industry is cutting checks to push the super thug or the homo or whatever else is trending there will always be an opportunist ready to accept that check and play the part. worrying about the endless supply of nikkaz on the c00n train won't stop anything. if popular society made it un-cool to be an ignorant black caricature in rap it would loose its strength. but it's still valued entertainment by the masses. we aren't helpless we are complacent.

your argument gets weak because the powers that be pick up on what's trending in the streets and give it a boost. we make this culture and they highlight distribute it. these kids are blowing up on youtube and soundcloud. you are whole heartedly unwilling to admit this. take away the agents and the outside interest and this type of music doesn't die it keeps proliferating... what then?
