This has always been a basketball truth. Unselfish play wins games. But the early 2000’s and the obsession with the crossover dribble killed that for a minute. And even in that era, unselfish play usually won more often than not. In the last 30 years I’d wager that NBA champions have by and large been teams that played unselfishly. But that’s easier said than done. Imagine trying to get 13 grown men who been the best on their team their entire lives to buy-in to a team concept. I imagine that’s not easy.
