Athletes tend to ignore that kind of stuff. That's the same reason that players like Tyreek Hill are well liked by players.
Here's the funny thing about empathy: it's a lot easier to empathize with someone if you can relate to their issues or struggle. Athletes will pardon stuff pertaining to violence due to the "We've all been there before" effect.
But moving so sloppy that the entire world knows you like to be anally penetrated by unwilling participants? Put it like this, out of respect for the team and respect for the positional & paycheck hierarchy, no one's gonna voluntarily give him a hard time about it (but best be sure he's one dude in the locker room no one's eating a piece of food from ever again

), but let Watson try to clown on or say some slick disrespectful sh1t to a teammate who's of the "no fukks given" mindset and homeboy is gonna have a field day at the expense of Watson's pride, manhood, decision making, you name it!
That's the biggest problem for him moving forward in regards to the locker room. How can anyone with this stomach-revolting level of perverted dirt walk around with the necessary swagger needed to lead his teammates? The minute he says anything that someone comprehends as disrespectful he's gonna get verbally eviscerated head to toe with the amount of ammo that's out there on him. Even if he said something with good intentions to motivate, let the wrong nikka misinterpret it, and I guarantee you within the first 10 words the word "fagg0t" will be thrown right at his face.
He pretty much compromised himself. How do you still joke around with the fellas knowing that your existence is a national joke at this point? He can't speak freely anymore unless he has no issues whatsoever with having this period of his life being thrown back in his face.
Sucks for him but better him than me
