When I watched that scene, I wondered how a devil could have the gall to tell me how to get into Heaven.
Acknowledging the Black Seminoles was a nice touch.

he isnt telling you how to get into heaven, he is saying by being a negro, you're not getting into heaven. Then when the mistress showed up, hes off being a politician so that he can relegislate slavery
