UnderArmor was a bootleg company before Steph. Yes they had some cloths you could find at Ross and Models n shyt. But nobody was really like 'Yo, its UnderArmor or else" I'm not claiming they didn't have millions to use. What I am saying is nobody would wear an underarmor shoe if it wasn't for Steph. Like, the stephs are neck n neck with the newest hottest nikes and why is that?Dog try to keep up here. If Lonzo wanna start his own company that's on him, I don't give a shyt, the argument here is whether or not it's feasible for an athlete to throw away guaranteed millions to start their own apparel company to try and compete with the big boys.
UA was already a MULTI MILLION DOLLAR company before Curry ever signed on the dotted line. They found a niche spot in the market with their compression gear and blew up. Curry obviously helped them get in the shoe game, but the difference is that they already had an established, well-respected and well-known platform and name to launch Curry from, rather than starting from scratch as a brand new company with Curry's shoes.
And people still bought the shyt LIKE YOU SAID... which is the entire point. People are gonna grab the shyt up regardless because of the swoosh, or the 3 stripes. That's why it's an impossible market to try to penetrate. These companies dominate the market share. Go start the business if you want to and POSSIBLY make a little bit of money with it if all the stars align and you have the time and commitment away from your regular NBA career, not to mention being able to put the right team in place and be willing to bleed money for the first several years as you try to get it off the ground. By all means, have at it, but don't tell me Nike should be scared of that shyt![]()
So why you say, don't throw away millions to be a billionaire. I say you sir sound retarded. First off, they getting paid Millions just to sit on the bench in the NBA, he good already. And if he is good and his "Brand" doesn't take off, he can then sign with any shoe company he wants if he is a good enough player. He hasn't proven himself NOW to garner the type of money you claiming he's throwing away be even attempting to have his own brand. Its like you trying to scare nikkaz into not even taking over their own destiny's

He has his brand, now he needs "backers". Will it be UnderArmor, will it be Nike, Addidas? Regardless of who, he will be in control of his own shyt. This is the wiser way because the amount of money being made is on another level. Thats the level they don't want the average person be it black/white/whatever to reach. But for some reason there is more "effort" put into keeping black people out the loop. Probably because we are the ones being exploited the most, and they feel once we realize we can cash in on ourselves instead of running to a system that is designed to culturally rape us

And you think Nike isn't afraid of possibly losing out on BILLIONS if this becomes a "trend"

Once again, how much money has Nike missed out on because of Steph?
Do you realize UnderArmor's stock has skyrocketed after Steph, not before it
Maybe you don't understand business that well, I'm not gonna waste my day explaining it to you tho. But I'll just say businesses are always looking at trends. Its how they survive...
