If Ye followed your logic, he would've just stayed a rapper/producer. And I'm pretty sure Adidas is more of a "distributor" than him simply being signed to them.

You obviously have no business intellect whatsoever.

If 2 Chains can sell dap sweaters there's nothing stopping a player from selling his own shoes.

:snoop: ... Ye SIGNED TO Adidas in a similar way that Lebron or Kobe is signed to Nike. He signed for $10 mil in 2013, and then re-upped a few years ago and they fund his line. That was the whole point of his rant with Sway was that he COULDN'T do it on his own and he needed the funding and platform from a larger company.

Did you miss where he went tens of millions into debt trying to get HIS OWN company (Pastelle) off the ground? This is probably the most influential musicians ever in terms of fashion who couldn't get his own shyt rolling, but according to your dumb ass it's easy as 1-2-3, just create a hot design and boom, start counting the money :mjlol:

Stop right there. I said Lonzo Ball could usher in a new movement of players selling their own apparel. There's nothing stopping a superstar player with millions from contracts and endorsements deciding to create their own shoe. Just say you scared of risk and leave it at that because you sounding silly. These players have built in demand already. All they would have to do is create a dope design for a shoe, a website, market it on Instagram, a YouTube video and wear it at games and these kids would be flying to their site to order it. fukk outta here. Just say you're scared and leave it at that :stopitslime: You nikkas spend all day talking about ownership then bytch up at the idea of really being an owner. I brought up actors because that flies in the face of your logic too. Eventually actors want some of the backend profits and they create their own studio houses (Adam Sandler and Happy Madison or Will Smith and Overbrook). They either put up some bread for the movie or take no money up front for backend cut. A nikka like you would've told them to just stick to getting paid up front and to not try to produce their own movies :mjlol: And they wouldn't have to take on the Major Shoe Retailers. They could sell less shoes on their own, make more than the peanuts the big companies were giving them yet have absolute control and ownership over everything. I can totally see that being a thing in the next decade.

That's it, huh? That's ALL they have to do? And who has the time and or desire to spend the money to do all that? :mjlol:

Again, if "there's nothing stopping" them then WHY hasn't anyone done it?

You keep mentioning dudes that are going AGAINST what you're describing here.

Ye tried on his own and failed, so he got that Adidas backing and now he's thriving.

LeBron has had chance after chance to break off and do his own thing but why would he? He's making money hand over fist with Nike.

The movie analogy is just so stupid for so many reasons that it's not even worth going on about. The risk/reward isn't even in the same stratosphere as pouring MILLIONS into a start-up apparel company in one of the most locked-up markets (sneakers) in the entire business world.

nah but it takes more than what they got
and it takes a talent for design and all the other creative aspects involved in putting out product that's aesthetically appealing/high performance

You think you can't find an artist to give you a dope design for $50K large? :deadrose: Odds are street cats would design way hotter shoes than Nike ever would

He's still a professional basketball player who doesn't have the time or desire to do what you're talking about. Jordan when he retired wanted to capitalize on his name and that's when Nike struck the deal for the"Jumpman's"

LeBron, instead of focusing on having his own shoe company is instead building schools

That's exactly the point I'm making. No athlete coming into the league is ever going to bypass a company throwing millions of dollars at him because he's already got a FULL TIME JOB trying to make it as an NBA player. The idea that a 19-year-old who has to spend hours every day working on his craft is also going to throw his time and money into a building a ground-up apparel business that could eventually reach the level of Nike is too stupid for words.

Lavar is just talking to see how who will cave and give him a 100 million...actually making his own shoe is a last resort...

Quoted because this is the absolute truth. Lavar Bell is talking out of his ass to build hype for his lotto pick son and sell off the brand to the highest bidder if it's still around in 3 years. Any talk about him taking on Nike, Adidas, etc. is bullshyt; there's a massive difference between hawking t-shirts/hoodies online and getting into the sneaker game. That doesn't even take into consideration a) becoming a successful sneaker company and b) having the money needed to promote on the level of a Nike.

The best case scenario for BBB is they sell enough t-shirts, secure a shoe deal with an unknown, smaller company, and eventually get bought by a larger company for millions.

It's gonna be funny when all his sons are wearing Adidas or UA after this BBB crap flops.

nikkas talking about investing in black business but how many of y'all actually purchased something BBB related?

Y'all won't even buy $10 albums from your favorite artist but you're willing to drop $150 for this?

1) Them Jordans and them wolverines were cold as f*ck

2) BAPE selling this sh*t for $400:

That suede :ohlawd: But at the end of the day it's about cultivating your own client base. People will buy your shoe on the strength of your game. If Ball is good enough with a decent design and a few cosigns from the right bloggers and sneakerheads it's gonna move units. F*ck a middleman, middle finger to the middleman, Nike wasn't shootin with him in the gym.

To be honest, these arent really shoe designs, these are graphics on shoes

Equivalent to putting a picture of batman on a porche or some shyt. Thats not the design of the actual car

your views on this are very pedestrian. Starting ANY type of bussiness has the odds stacked against you, that doesnt mean you shouldnt try.
