Because these dudes are 19-year-old basketball players, not entrepreneurs trying to run a business from scratch:mjlol:

You really think when you can sign a $20 mil guaranteed contract like Ben Simmons just did with Nike, that any kid is gonna be like nah fukk that, lemme go start my own company, and while I'm trying to make it in the NBA as a rookie I'll also have to worry about how to promote my company, hire factory workers and other staff, shoe design, development, customer acquisition, marketing, inventory, how to scale it, how to find investors, etc.

Now you could say, well of course he won't do it himself, he'll hire someone else. But WHO? How does a 19-year-old know who to hire to put in charge of a company that is supposedly going to compete with Nike?

Some of ya'll really don't THINK for shyt before you hit that submit button :gucci:

Live your own life
Good, fukk Nike and their overpriced ass shoes. nikkas don't understand, nobody thinks of BBB as some serious competitor to Nike, hell they are no competition at all. This ain't about that.Everybody know Nike has cornered the market as of right now. It's about showing young black players they can make money in the sneaker game off their own brand and name, if they play their cards right, cutting off the middleman whether it's Nike, Adidas or UA. Lavar and his sons are trailblazers and I'm rooting for them to succeed. Ten years from now we might see Lonzo, Markelle Fultz, Josh Jackson, Michael Porter, Zion Williamson and the rest have their own sneaker brands and that would be great. Why would some old cac named Phil Knight profit off their hard work?
Lavar isn't trailblazing any path that has been built by other professional athletes who created their own brand. Shaq, Ewing, Starbury, Wade,etc..

My Pops Forever RIP
Scared is a big word....but in the long run it could be right. If Lavar can be successful at his own brand with his sons, then more athletes will do that going forward.

All it takes is someone "cool" to get ppl on their side.

Sure Nike can still pay more so likely they've nothing to be concerned about on a large level, but Lavar could change a part of the game
That said, why would anyone else sign to BBB? It's gonna be hard to survive off just your kids.

I'm just waiting to see which shoe company is going to bite on signing them , a major or a local looking to come up. There's a lot of smaller shoe companies out in Southern California.

Brand Black? (Jamal Crawford 's kicks ):jbhmm:

same way they know how to hire competent agents...if BBB works you might not see a flood of kds going completely indie but you might see more subsidiary brands like Jordan. I can see that realistically happening

I cannot really believe some of you DUMB ASS nikkas in here think Nike is SCARED of this dude and his bummy ass clothing line. :gucci:

The "worst thing in 100 years" line is harsh, but he really is BAD for this. Ya'll can try to big up a dude pushing his own shyt, but if he was real serious about it then he would actually be serious about it.

But he's not.. BBB is already a joke and a meme, look no further than this thread. So it's hard for me to really have any support for this dude taking on the big corporation when he's already turned himself into a joke, and hurt his son in the process.

How DUMB would you have to be to have your own son pass up a multi-million dollar contract to wear some trash that will no doubt look like K-SWISS joints :scust:

what even funnier is that dudes in this thread have acknowledged that nike took decades before they really became popping

but somehow BBB is gonna come out the gate and be worldbeaters based on sons that havent proven or won anything at any basketball level

so somehow BBB is gonna leapfrog Adidas, UA and other shoe brands to get at nike...

and STILL STILL STILL nobody has answered my question? who in this thread has actually bought BBB products? If they are so gung ho about the brand and the movement surely they would have bought something right

well for one starburys were priced at like $10 so they had a bad perception from the jump

if steph can have kids rocking ugly ass under armor sneakers that outsold literally every nike signature shoe not named jordan in 2016, then anything is possible especially if lonzo becomes a superstar and his shoes actually look good

- that's my point, those shoes sparked a nationwide discussion about overpriced shoes and the ridiculousness of it all; and kids were like
kyhWEGa.gif

- you're right, but that's a tall order. he HAS to come in the league and take over, not be a brandon jennings/demar derozan all star type player

he's gotta be on that elite, top tier, championship level behemoth out the gate in order to even be in the same race as Nike :francis:
