Ok, and do you expect me to be mad at that?

Those grown people you are referring to probably have no ambition. You sound like you do.

If you're so good, and I hope you are, you are probably looking to create something special or a business or something one day too. Don't let nobody sucker you into investng or pushing something generic and dumb, and accept criticism and tough questions.

For the record, no hate on you nor LB and his kids. Go shine!
You happen to be right, but nobody will sucker me into anything. No beef playa.

I mean he got three sons.... let's say just 2 become stars and push that brand..... Even if the plan isn't for him to "run" it and compete with the big brands. Nike (our another company) will have to pay BIG money to buy them out eventually (and maybe they could flip it to include Nike Stock) Like if this works, expect every young star to start a brand and wait for Nike or UA or whoever to buy them out

Like this is literally the black entrepreneurship this forum is always hyping. So props to Lavar

:salute:

It probably still rings true that a lot of the ball players that'll end up in the position to be signed by Nike or whoever may not be accustomed to large sums of money therefore they'll be more than happy to sign.

This dude doesnt appear to be afraid of a no answer therefore if Nike, UA or Adidas walks away from them :manny: no sweat of their sacks. But other kids maybe without the family structure could definitely be afraid of that no answer even if they do believe in their own brand

Props on how he's making sure his sons and fam in general will be set, but the way he's going after Nike looks like TNA attempting to restart the Monday Night Wars in 2010.

Business is primarily being done online in a lot of capacities, but the offline experience isnt going anywhere for certain products anytime soon - and shoes are one of those products. People love to try on shoes and see how they fit and how they look - Nike, Adidas and Converse have the luxury of existing for 40 years, so people are somewhat sure of the fit for the most part.

Now, funny you bring up the "made to order" concept - because I just saw Daymond John and Marc Cuban shoot someone down on Shark Tank for this concept, I tried to find the video on Youtube for you but couldnt - I will look again. He was explaining that the process, development and delivery of customization of a shoe would be so hard, because you always have to think scale. Who is developing these shoes when they are ordered? No one want to wait 5 weeks. What if Lonzo Ball becomes A.I. and hits a game winning shot over Lebron, and sales go from 5,000 to 120,000 in one night. How do you scale up in 1-2 days? Customizing each shoe? That would be a complete nightmare.

I did see your And1 video, and am actually familiar the UA dudes because they started here. I can speak for UA when I saw they started with ONE PRODUCT, that had good technology (dri-fit shirts) and then got it put on U Maryland and local athletes. That was there singular focus for a long time, as they grew the company. UA started from technology, not from someone wanting to push a new line of shirts, and Nike wasnt offering this. They were in a line Nike wasnt in.

Thats where I get frustrated with the vanity stuff, because Ball could legit do something to take over, instead of playing the game "they" want us to play, trying to sell shoes and t-shirts.

Go sign a young brand that has created some new fit of jersey or shoe technology thats an insert into your kicks, or some of these small companies that are developing athletes technology - there are chips you can put into basketballs that can measure the arc of your shot and translate it your iphone or macbook to see what you can do better form wise. Put the Ball name and that and they would be billionaires.

Good points on the customization, I think I remember that shark tank episode so I know what you are talking about.

Also, good point on UA starting with one product actually And1 also started primarily with T-Shirts so technically they started with one product too.

As far as your point of having a proprietary product new technology) that would be dope but its not necessary because his brand is going to be his proprietary product so as long as people continue to buy into him as an athlete he can start with just selling his name//likeness and then move into developing something proprietary later.

Overall, I still like the idea of creating a brand BEFORE entering the league because Lavar Ball said that he is not opposed to signing with any bigger brand he just wants a joint venture. Similar to rappers starting their own lables and then signing with a major how Jay-Z, Master P, or J Prince did.

People against bad business practices and ideas?

Just because he is black and pretending to "take control" we gotta support him?

When a player I'm not even a fan of, even a hater of, is doing genius level business everyday?? (LEBRON)

Just because you put your name on something and call it yours dont mean nothing. The name of the game is making money that will last generations. BBB making 500k revenue ain't doing nothing to help his family long term. Take the Nike Bag of money then you have millions to create something special that will last generations - its literally like yall arent listening.

Did Jay-Z, boss of all hip hop bosses, make his own label and then go out and start selling CDs and making CDs himself and trying to get them put into Walmarts? Or did he partner with Dame and Biggs, go get a 50/50 deal with Dej Jam, who would fit the bill for the things Jay def couldnt at the time, open up their marketing budgets (you cant sell sh!t without marketing, and marketing aint appearing on First Take once a month...you do now a commercial ad buy costs a few mill) and then use that revenue to launch your own products and gear?

Hustiing backwards, and I still havent seen anyone in a leather BBB fitted...

jay-z is a terrible example.

rocafella was a black business darling.

then jay-z ditched them to become a gopher mascot for white folks.

Sound Reasoning
While that sounds nice in theory, one million pairs is an extremely lofty goal. Go on etsy and you'll see plenty of people with better designs who are struggling to push any product at all. Its a saturated market and so far, Lavar is just pushing clothing that is gaudy and cheap looking and trying to charge a huge premium for it.

When you study successful businessmen, they had revolutionary ideas to invent something new or improve an existing product. Lavar is just producing shyt we have seen before and charging 500% of what people typically pay for it.

You're comparing people on Etsy to a guy who has a son whose going to be a top 3 pick in the NBA draft? A kid that has been in the national spotlight for years now?

Shoe companies have been reselling the same products over and over for years. See Retro Jordans and Huaraches as example. And people still pay $100 or more for them everyday, so I don't jive with your point.

Peace

Nike can keep selling repetitive low quality overpriced trash because they're Nike. Brand loyalty is big and Nike spends billions on r&d, marketing, etc.

People aren't going to buy BBB if they can buy Nike stuff or other real shyt much cheaper. Some of you Lavar ball stans might buy it but everything he put out so far is embarrassing.

I am surprised she would try to go back and forth on twitter with insults. She famously has a fragile mental and emotional state and shouldn't want to draw any extra negative comments her way especially if they are true and she cant deny it. She wants to ride for Nike but this is a done deal she should focus on recruiting other athletes and just leave the Ball family alone and stop trying to get headlines and more viewers to your wnba game by dissing these people who never mentioned your name in public. Robert on BSO is on her ass and fighting off the alt right racists who are defending her at every turn. Even as a lesbian she is trying to play the white woman victim card against the black man when she started all this shyt. She hasn't deleted the tweet so she has no shame and deserves no sympathy.

:salute:
salute to Robert
