If you mean disappointed by saying "surprised" then yea I guess so but yea I might be beating a dead horse by saying this but I've been hugely let down by this show. Some of these decisions are just bad bad bad. The way they're telling this story.... they shouldn't even be at Woodbury yet or worrying about the Governor. They should've played on the inmate/serial killer angle. They completely skipped the neighborhood they were in during the winter before they even got to the farm and introduce Tyreese and his daughter. I don't like how they're so divisively down playing the black characters at all. Tyreese was the head nikka in charge along with Rick in the prison. Michonne was quiet but one of the best characters to root for completely different from the snarling angry black female that hates all white people angle they got her playing in the show. I thought after the farm we were all in the clear and ready to plow ahead with most of the story originally in tact but they've butchered the Prison Arc so bad it might be worse than the farm.
well i guess i was the only one cool with not knowing everything and still enjoying the show...if kirkman did the GoT approach i prolly would've nvr read the comic cuz i cant stand knowing shyt while watching a show......i can agree that some of the things they decided to pass on would've made for some good tv but thats why i guess the showrunner got fired cuz kirkman wanted to slow the pace down more instead of blowing thru the shyt...even tho mufukkas were still complaining when the last showrunner was taking it slower during herschel's farm shyt smdh......but all this just proves is unless u go page for page with the source material u can nvr plz fanboys

I'm actually cool with what they're doing with Game Of Thrones. They're doing a hell of a job and aren't sacrificing the actual storyline but what's going on with WD...I just dont know man. It's not good and way too many boring scenes with useless talking and no character development. I been trying to figure out how a show with that budget can shoot such poor action scenes and have so many shots inside, boring us all to tears. Check it out, from 2011
'The Walking Dead': What Really Happened to Fired Showrunner Frank Darabont - The Hollywood Reporter
What is also hugely significant is that Walking Dead is the only show AMC owns, which means the network bears all the financial risk (and could reap much greater rewards in success). That is not the kind of chance that the network had been willing to take before. AMC developed Mad Men and even fully financed a pilot before the company decided that the cost of the first season, about $25 million, was too much to bear. So AMC sold the idea to Lionsgate and licensed it from the studio. Lionsgate owns Mad Men, and Sony Television owns Breaking Bad.

But this source says that AMC had its own ideas about how to make the show more cheaply. The show shoots for eight days per episode, and the network suggested that half should be indoors. "Four days inside and four days out? That's not Walking Dead," says this insider. "This is not a show that takes place around the dinner table." That was just one of what this person describes as "silly notes" from AMC. Couldn't the audience hear the zombies sometimes and not see them, to save on makeup? The source says Darabont fought "a constant battle to keep the show big in scope and style."
And
And despite "being on top," AMC is still a newcomer in the world of original programming and still small potatoes compared with more established competitors. The network costs distributors about 26 cents per subscriber each month, compared to $1.08 and 60 cents for TNT and USA, respectively, according to SNL Kagan.

This is recent
AMC May Use Hit Series to Flesh Out IFC's Negotiating Position : TVBizwire : TVWeek - Television Industry news, TV ratings, analysis, celebrity event photos
The report adds: “The AMC flagship gets between 30 cents and 50 cents per subscriber a month from cable and satellite-TV providers but is trying to raise that to about 75 cents. Combined, IFC, WE tv and Sundance Channel get about 47 cents per subscriber a month.”
So it sounds like AMC doesn't make nearly as much money as other cable networks. Making a ton off of ads but probably not profiting that much. Also at those links, info about money issues with Mad Men and Breaking Bad.

90% of the shyt in the comics they can't put on TV unless it's HBO/Starz. From the prison arc on it's straight up Mature readers only after that :pachaha:

:wtb:
Say word? Most of the shyt here they chose not to put on TV...even the true way that Lori died. Oh and the baby is still alive, you think they gonna kill the baby like that?
the Michonne rape for days? Her revenge on the Gov? Herschel daughters beheaded by the prisoner? The interracial sex? Carl missing half his face? Tyrese vicious beheading? I could go on..no way they put this shyt on TV. HBO yea, not regular ass TV.

they shot a 9 yr old girl in the first episode :what2:
most of the shyt in the comic book was also implied. you never actually see michonne getting raped. you see her getting tied up, stuff being said while govs bodyguard watches the door, then michonne being tore up after.

and you think they can show a zombie getting curb stomped but not michonne gettin revenge on the gov? once again, most of it was implied. we never see her cut his dikk off, or stick shyt in his ass, we just see her chopping his arm off and taking his eye out with a spoon.

most of the other stuff mentioned, while brutal could also be implied. i already knew they'd back out on the lori/baby situation. but they could go much darker and still keep their mainstream appeal if they were willing to take that risk.

i do think they're scared of the IR sex though. although i shouldn't make it broad because really, i really just mean Black man-white woman. they'll have no problem tossin michonne on one of the white characters.

:what: she was 9-yr old zombie, not a human baby in the womb. What happens to Tyrese also isn't implied. Its brutal and horrible in the comic...if they do that on TV I'll give'em props. Everything else you said I can agree wit though.
