I'm not talking about overall album sales. I'm not talking about how good or bad the album was. I'm talking about they hype it generated on the net last summer, leading up to its release. With no leaks (with the exception of HAM earlier in the year) Is that so hard to comprehend?

MBDTF hype with the Good Fridays and the Runaway movie >>>>>>>>

that was better cuz we were all :eat: every week then.

but the anticipation of WTT was in fact higher cuz NOTHING was leaking off there that they weren't putting out themselves like otis and ham.

nikkas on SOHH had a listening party...and yall say the thirst wasn't high? :laff:

I remember when the little movie leaked about the behind the scenes and there were snippets for songs like "why I love you" on thee and nikkas (me included) went into full thirst mode

You're kinda right but also wrong..

You're right the internet hype was intense...But it wasn't in volume or reflecting popular demand..It was the fact that it was a project that had the total support of mainstream America and media, that was featuring two artists with the most passionate fanbases in the culture..

For example.. The SOHH thread had thousands of hits... But if you go break it down, the majority of posts were by a handful of sycophants...There were users that had 200 posts each in the WTT thread alone (no need to name names)

And then weeks later we have a thread for Carter 4 that doesnt' do half the numbers that WTT thread did.. But Wayne easily doubled up their first weeks sales..

So while I agree that it was hyped...It wasn't organic or something that was cosigned by the majority of the culture like Doggystle, GRODT or Carter 3...

So the moral of the story is.. Nobody goes harder than Camel and Ye fans...But we already know that..This is why they're such targets and usually the easiest to clown...
