We were able to afford a very expensive home in our budget by cutting out excess eating expenses.

Even with prices being high at grocery store it’s still cheaper than DoorDash in my opinion.
A week worth of groceries for the both of us is around $100 or less.
I go to farmers markets for veggies. $20 worth will get you lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber, an assload of onions and potatoes, greens, spinach, broccoli, green beans, peppers. The market I go to will give you a basket and let you pick and choose your own veggies for really cheap.

We have huge bags of rice/grits/flour/spices at the crib.
Only things I get at the grocery store are meats, cheeses and specialty items if I wanna make desserts.

Eggs $7, bacon $4, sausage $3, pot roast $10, chicken $4, smoked sausage $5, ribs , fish, cheese, milk/cream run me around $60.
Didn’t need to know all of this…but cool. :russ:

I operate something similar to a food truck (more of a pop up), and oh boy:blessed:

Gonna break records if the year continues like this. I've damn near doubled my prices from pre-quarantine, and I stay with a line at major events. 20 dollars for a double cheeseburger with fries. 15 dollars for 4 chx tenders with fries. 4 dollar waters.

I'm almost at the point if u try negotiate prices u can just get the fukk out my line, I don't have a problem letting someone know they can't afford this and Mcds is right up the road for ya.

Keep not knowing how to cook :blessed::blessed::blessed: :blessed:

Knowing how to cook is so easy though.

Made a big pot of banging curry chicken last week.
Then Vietnamese roasted chicken thighs with lemon pepper salmon on Sunday.

Not saying I should have a cookbook or anything but cooking isn't hard and you save time and money when you do it in bigger portions.

No excuses.

Anybody can make a five guy burger breh when you was coming up you never been to a barbecue before and had a patty fresh off the grill?
Absolutely. But fast food serves its purpose for me when I’m on the go or don’t have the time/resources to cook it. Five guys is a good simple burger. That’s exactly what I’m looking for when I’m short on time and in the mood. There’s a lot of burger joints around me now that are higher end and go too over the top with their shyt.

people are doing what makes sense for them

When I lived in Switzerland, I found this to be cheaper than groceries.
