We’re doomed:mjlol:

Consumers spent more than $86.6 billion at restaurants in the month of January, up 24% compared to the same month in 2022, per the latest data from the U.S. Census Bureau. Spending on groceries, beer, wine, and liquor was up 5.3%, totaling about $78.9 billion last month.

I only eat out when needed. Trying to watch my figure because ya marsupial a bit on the husky side:

I’ve literally done the exact opposite. I’ve scaled my budget down to the pure essentials since the beginning of January because the industry I work in is hitting a major downturn. I’m finally at a point where my spending habits are what they need to be for me to start socking away money. No Amazon, no gadgets, no drum machines/samplers, no trips to the record store
( :mjcry: )… but my savings is looking healthy

My family eats out 1-2 times per week and prices these days got me and my wife like :gucci:. Went to a restaurant/Brewhouse the other day and including tip it was $100 for us and our two kids.
We were able to afford a very expensive home in our budget by cutting out excess eating expenses.

Even with prices being high at grocery store it’s still cheaper than DoorDash in my opinion.
A week worth of groceries for the both of us is around $100 or less.
I go to farmers markets for veggies. $20 worth will get you lettuce, cabbage, tomatoes, cucumber, an assload of onions and potatoes, greens, spinach, broccoli, green beans, peppers. The market I go to will give you a basket and let you pick and choose your own veggies for really cheap.

We have huge bags of rice/grits/flour/spices at the crib.
Only things I get at the grocery store are meats, cheeses and specialty items if I wanna make desserts.

Eggs $7, bacon $4, sausage $3, pot roast $10, chicken $4, smoked sausage $5, ribs , fish, cheese, milk/cream run me around $60.

I'm sure I do too, I live alone, single, do not have any desire to cook or pretend to embrace it, I'm always out too, so the idea of coming home and cooking a meal is pretty unattractive to me. My life isn't very domestic oriented.

Points in my favor, if I spend more at the grocery store, I won't eat it, and it will end up thrown out, I love food, but I defer to experts/professionals, they make better food, and it's more interesting, it makes it like something I enjoy, rather than some bullshyt meal, I don't want to cook, and don't really want to eat.
