the best version of secret wars...and possibly the greatest story telling track ever. prince paul really made it feel like an epic battle going back n forth. the original beat was just too laid back. i hated having to fast forward through he's alive everytime to get into this track, since it was hidden on this last emp mixtape that i have. it's actually disgusting to know that this gem was released on that celebrity deathmatch soundtrack.

I love this song....I still maintain with the right promotion, and guest spot on the hook, that song could have been a hit.

Last Emp not blowing is just an indictment of hip hop at the time. When he was trying to bubble, 03-09, hip hop was hostile to the thoughtful, lyrical emcee. He would of had a better chance now, if he were trying to establish himself. Couple that with Dre's notorious lack of work ethic, and his obvious prioritizing of Em and 50, and you have a hip hop career casualty. If I were to rationalize, I think it was all for the best. I think hes far too great of a soul for hip hop, and its commercialized mainstream. Would love to chop it up with him one day.

I think a lot of the real MC's can make hits, naturally though, forced shyt usually don't sound dope. I wouldn't say he is a far too great a soul for Hip Hop, Last Emp was partly birthed THROUGH Hip Hop, there are other brothers and sisters around like Last Emp, an artist like K-Rino is similar in many ways. Emp is the man though no doubt, he's a genuine dude.

Word, there was a lot of ill people Dre had he let go. Hip Hop could be much better and different right now. Emp is a GREAT talent. Yeah Secret Wars mad classic, don't know anyone who don't like that.

I wish I had access to Dre's secret vault. I cant even imagine all the classic recordings he has with Last Emp, Ra, Joell Ortiz, Nas, Hittman and others.
