Hes 19 years old breh:yeshrug:
He most likely tired as fukk
He showed his potential earlier in the season

So-sign this. 35 mpg in December; 30 mpg in the 28 games after that point. And he's averaging 28 mpg over the season. The kid has flashed scoring ability at every spot on the court and that's something I'm willing to be patient on. Fiz has the Tom Thibodeau gloves with Knox which is strange because he hasn't given Mitch that load even though Mitch has been awesome. But I'm not tryna read Fiz's mind in a tank season.

I'd hope they sell the cap space for picks and load up in that case. Try to pick off some expirings to help teams get under the luxury tax and then charge a premium for 2 year deals. We've got so much space we could probably pick off some unwanted contracts for picks and still have a good chunk to offer FA's the following year.

This is why the KP trade was a great trade for us. Even if we lose, we still win. Our backup plan has a backup plan.

I havent written frank off
Its been 2 years tho and i dont no what he is:yeshrug:
And ive yet to see him have a significant stretch of good games:yeshrug:

Knox was ballin:yeshrug:
Early in the season he had a nice little stretch, but after the first time him and that squad lost Fiz blew it up and never went back to it.m and rode the losing one that lasted till dec-jan.

I'm still playing catch up at work and home, so I haven't been able to put together a recap. But I'm looking at behavior trends on the court so I can dive in soon (Saturdays are always a crapshoot though because your boy needs to drink away the weekly commuter stress fam *middle finger to Cuomo*). So some notes:

- Yall know I've been trying to give Fiz leeway especially with the roster. Here's my attempt. The team has been enthusiastic and competitive most of the season; I like bringing in these mentors as an advertisement for the Knicks appreciating our past contributors and a way to keep the kids from getting too down...but there are issues with this team that I have which I feel are correctable. There are player combos I wish we'd see more of since the wins don't matter. I love DJ's leadership but Mitch and DSJ should be attached at the hip. Knox shoulda had his minutes cut to save his legs a long time ago and he needs some defensive accountability, it's March and he's backtracked from some improvements earlier. We're also back to poor spacing two big man line-ups since Vonleh has lost his three ball. Idk fam, I hope he's tanking and hiding it but I'm also getting flashbacks of Fish and Hornacek...good talk, actions not quite reflecting the words.

- Mitch is a killer...42% from the field is so rare that it stood out for him and the block party just continues. At 30 mpg, I'm really thinking he'd hit 3 bpg already.

- Dot's ceiling...where is it? PHX focused on packing the paint but had to keep Dot off the three point line, he responded by taking the ball inside and clocked 5 assists plus 4 makes inside that line (including a really nice lay-up splitting two defenders). His defense has seemed to regress a bit as his aggression offensively upticks though (still solid to good on a nightly basis but not great as often and solid more than good lately). He's interesting though, I think there's more upside than I'd given credit for.

- Ditto for Trier..his awareness has improved for sure, although there's still the problem of him making decisions without making reads on some plays where it's pretty blatant. He threw a ball to nobody yesterday because he assumed a cut to the corner that his man never even showed body language like he'd cut that way.

- DSJ and Mudiay were TO city with the roll man cut off...DSJ did much better handling it to be fair, but both struggled. Smith going on a jumpshot streak was encouraging though, they took his lanes away (partially on Fiz for the two big combo) and he got his jumper going.

- Speaking on DSJ, his defensive upside was blatant in Sacramento but the effort was cut in half last night. I think Fiz pushing fitness is one step but getting the kid in a consistent attacking mindset is needed. He's not Knox motor bad, but he's had some games where you could see the effort was just lower and it was out the gate.

- Speaking of Knox, I'm hanging on to the idea that he'd burnt out. The minutes were crazy all along and he still flashes that scoring ability or at least the ability to get the looks that he wants. But his defense...man...his defense!

- Speaking of bad defense, everyone kinda sucked last night. Even Mitch had a couple of plays where I felt he got himself out of position ball hawking which I attribute to pressing since everyone else wasn't doing their job but that might be wishful thinking. Blocking everything means chasing everything and the balance there is a struggle.

- Noah Vonleh's been good. Period point blank, he's on a nice run. But Vonleh at PF with DJ or Mitch is bad for spacing just like when he paired with Kanter.

- DJ's leadership always deserves a shout out. He put more effort into coaching up the kids last night than we see from Lebron on LA lately...and LA has an outside chance at the postseason.

- Watching Mudiay last night was aggravating. We stunted Frank's attempt to learn PG and gave up on it; Kadeem Allen got sent back down; DSJ has been benched to give Mudiay more run some games...but here we were March 6th and Mudiay still hasn't shown a damned thing that makes me want him back on this team next season. I thought it was savvy to give him a look and press to make him work in case of a trade opportunity but now IDK WTF is going on.

- DSJ/Frank/Dot/Knox/Mitch is the unit I'm still pretty hopeful for. DSJ/Dot/Trier/Knox/Mitch is worth extended looks too but I have a feeling the defense won't hold up, so I'm more interested in the Frank version of the all youth unit at the moment.

I want our future to be young and homegrown.

I am trying very hard not to bring up the player that shall not be named...

But, that 7'3 player we traded, next to Mitch Robinson would have been so insane. It would have made his job so much easier & even w/ Calderon playing the point, we'd have a formidable defense because of that interior anchor.

It's crazy that I'll always wonder "what if".

----------------------------------------------

Mitch fukking Robinson.

It's amazing that we all kind of saw the diamond underneath the dirt on him from very early on. This kid should really be untouchable. He seems like he really likes NY as well. DO everything to give this kid the best mentors.

He's not this year's Galloway or Shumpert or Copeland or Dotson. He is really an elite prospect.

We are so fukking blessed by the eye of this FO.

------------------------------------------------

Now, Knox...

*Deep depressing breath*

Listen, fukk Janis' influence and Diddy type intrusion into the Knicks organization.

I NEED THE KNICKS TO GIVE KEVIN KNOX Sr. a paid position on the development team.

His father seems to be a great and involved influence. I need this kid to really be focused on improvement and not fortnite. He's a kid, I know, but, he was also a high lottery pick & I need to see attempts at making week to week adjustments. I really don't see it. I see him playing the same way he did from after he came back from the ankle injury; some days, he's hot - some days he's not.

The coaching staff should definitely not tear him down, however. His youth also is indicative of a potentially fragile confidence level. A healthy, tough encouragement. At this point, I had more faith in Cleanthony Early:upsetfavre:

I love the kid. I don't even need to see actual success...I need to see ATTEMPTS at adjustment. That's not really on him, though. It's on the staff, it's on Fiz.

----------------------------------------------

What the fukk is really going on with Frank Ntilikina?? I mean, I've fukking seen more videos of recent practice drills for Porzingis than I have for Frank. Groin injury? Or did this french nikka lose a testicle during fencing practice? How serious is this shyt????

----------------------------------------------

I like the effort by Dennis Smith Jr. I really don't have anymore to say other than I cringe a little at many of my previous comments about him when he was in Dallas.

----------------------------------------------

At this point, I can give a fukk if we sign Kevin Durant or Kevin fukking Mcallister... I can only be really happy if the roster has: Mitch Robinson, Mitch, M. Robinson, Milk and Cookies... shyt, that's all the same person, my bad...I'll try again...

Mitch Robinson, Damyean Dotson, Allonzo Trier(even though I have a love/hate w/ him...he has too much skill to let go this offseason).

I love Frank & I am really rooting for Knox but...after analyzing my stanning for Timmy, I realize I need to think way more objectively about this.

Knox has such a baby face. If he ever becomes lethal from three I’m gonna call him the “baby faced assassin”.
