My Pops Forever RIP
I'm glad you said, as an objective fan from the outside. The narrative on KP changed real quick.

Secondly, I remember when I was clowned for suggesting that KP would want to leave NY, and yet the reason he wanted out was because of the losing, which I SAID would be a factor if he did leave. Not everyone wants to waste their seasons playing for ping pong balls.

Knicks are going to have a difficult sell for any potential free agents this summer. No cornerstone franchise player, and a bunch of young cats.
With tanking, it always feels like the team is trying to find someone better than you. Combine that with not offering him a max that 29 other teams would have gladly offered him, you have this. Porzingis loves NY. It took all this and the losing to make him be like "I gotta go."

Fans are funny. If there was so much reservation over his health, him unsure of the future, basically echoing all of the concerns y'all had as fans, why were people not wanting him dealt before all this?

If the Knicks get major free agents then it proves that they don't have to necessarily be competent. They just need to have cap space.

I'm truly evolved. Because once upon a time a trade of this magnitude would have really affected my mood. The best way to describe my reaction to this is:

I'm numb to what the Knicks do. This is a surprise no doubt, but I feel no anger. I was never attached to KP. The first time I saw Jokic I thought "KP is better than this cat? Why do I never hear about him?? KP can barely do half the shyt he can!"

So I've never been sold yet that KP is a #1. I've posted questioning his durability. He will be Lukas Robin if he can reclaim his form. Even 100% healthy KP is only an Alpha on a team of trash the Knicks would surround him with.

And I guarantee he will wilt under the Garden Boo's in his first return. If that p*ssy even plays.

That said, I'm excited about the cap space. I feel they got a guarantee from KD. KD don't need Porzingis lanky ass. But he can draw Kyrie tho! Or Kawhi. We getting a franchise player believe that.

This fuks up our draft position potentially tho. DJ and DSJ will get some wins in the east :patrice:

Frank and dennis smith debate is dead now atleast.

Knicks takin a huge gamble. Gettin the second max was extremely important tho cause no one was comin here alone, and even tho kp is nice, hes still new to the league and isnt close friends with any of these guys dat wanna team up with one another

If we can get 2 max contract players and a top 2 pick, we win the trade. Theres a lot of ifs tho. Gotta see how it plays out.
That debate been dead breh
They’re both trash :dead:

But nah foreal let’s see if these dudes can show us something:yeshrug:
As long as they don’t win us games :whoa:

I’m not gonna lie I was on the porzingis bandwagon so I’m not gonna act like he’s nothing but I never liked the fact that dude acted like he was a superstar.

Let’s be honest dude never accomplished shyt in his NBA career. Dude has no playoff games no all star appearances. Already having leg issues for a guy his size is concerning.

Getting rid of hardaway and lee was beautiful thing. If they can stay in the top 3 for lottery which I believe they can then this is a solid deal regardless of if they can sign KD etc... If they do then this trade was a straight up HR easy.

And, just when we were close to that No.1 pick, back to lottery ETHER we go:francis:

I doubt KD gave us a guarantee, dude is about to 3-Peat. The Knicks roster is a complete mess.

DJ and Matthews will probably receive buy outs. We will go full tank mode and youth movement for the rest of the season.

Honestly after having a couple of hours to digest the news, it is what it is :manny:

I just wish we could’ve found a better deal for KP, but maybe there just wasn’t one:manny:

I’m defintely less invested in the team, but I’m hoping to at least see DSJ, Knox, Trier and Mitch ball out

Hopefully we tank nicely, get a top 3 pick and don’t make any stupid signings over the summer :ld:

Brehs I'm totally lost out here. How we just send away our cornerstone like that? Yeah KP could've been pissed at all the losing, but last I remember we had an opportunity to sign the extension and didn't though. Even if he wants a trade what's the rush in trading him NOW? Wait til the summer and try to work something out. And now we're left, like in 2010, with cap space and dreams of a number one pick. fukk all this brehs. Just once we can't go through a full rebuild with OUR young players, now we're again hoping at getting players from other teams.

Back in the day I said trading Ewing was gonna curse us for 20 years. Watch us get the 4th pick and overpay some middle of the field players :snoop:

I honestly think Kemba is content with chucking for .500 teams for the super max in Charlotte than coming here :francis:
