first off Phil Jackson was right Melo was done and KP didn't want to be there years late but opening up two max slots changes everything with all these marquee free agents available this was the year to have money and the knicks now have it. Kyrie/kemba/boogie/kd/kawhi/butler if you get any of those two plus a top 3 pick fuk KP he was worth getting rid of to shed Hardaway and Courtney lee contracts off the books. Who knows if KP even comes back healthy knicks actually did something smart you don't win in the NBA with kp and Zion you win with Kyrie and Kd and Zion.
