I'm all for Knox if they really scouted him and was impressed by his workout. I hate going off mock drafts and hype for who we should pick. Everyone have Bridges at 9 and automatically that's who the fans want. Last year it was the same for Frank and that's who we had our sights on. We need to look at everyone in the top 15 players and pick the best one. I don't remember people drooling over Donovan Mitchell until he started to ball out and blamed Phil for not picking him.

Wasn’t Mitchell an unknown in terms of that level of play?

History tells us only a few of the first round picks will be serviceable. If we can't identify those players or they're not available when we pick we should trade the pick. No reason having another Michael Sweetney, Renaldo Balkman, or Jordan Hill on our team taking up a guaranteed contract spot.

Do like the Patriots and wait until the right one comes along.

Y'all can neg me to Bolivia but I think Miles Bridges is the guy we should target. High motor, finishes with both hands, athletic and is not a liability on defense. His playstyle screams New York and I see him starting for a long time.

He plays in the post, can start and finish a break, and hit the outside shot. Please basketball gods don't fukk us on this one. He already has an NBA body and I don't see too many players bullying him on the court. Just imagine a more athletic Anthony Mason. :banderas:

A few of us had Mitchell as our second and third favorite prospect at the time. I think @storyteller and someone else wanted Phil to trade Melo for some a pick and draft Mitchell. I liked Mitchell too, his floor was an athletic 3 and d guy who was an okay ball handler and okay at creating his own offense. None of us predicted him breaking out like he did last year, but we saw value in him.

Knicks Rumors: New York impressed by 2018 NBA Draft prospect Kevin Knox

I'm liking this Knox kid upside. He'll be perfect for us. :whoo:
He can be a pretty good player,as long as the Knicks are patient and he develops a motor out there. Miles feels like one of those guys who will overachieve once he gets to league just based off of his work ethic and personality. The Knicks can't go wrong with any of the three. History says the ninth pick will become a star, so I'm fine as long as the Knicks don't draft a pg(especially after the Kyrie rumors, and looking at the number of quality pg's that will be available in free agency next year).

I’m coming around to it. Hopefully Fiz can light a fire under his ass and make him reach his potential...
My main concerns with Knox is that i don’t feel he has an elite skill at all. I don’t see “Elite Scorer” when i look at him. Mikal has the potential to have elite defense. Miles has elite athleticism and an nba body already. If Knox was a bit more athletic/explosive or was a better rebounder to be a stretch four i’d be a lot more comfortable with the pick. Him still being 18 is the most intriguing thing about him honestly.
