Cause anytime somebody hits the market they’re interested in coming here. What do we honesty have that’s enticing? We’re still years off from competing for a ship with a bunch of young players. Also, why gut the team if he’s a free agent next season? Supposedly he wants the Lakers and his family wants the Knicks, so he doesn’t want us.

if superstar players suddenly come on the market any serious front office will do their job and see if they can acquire him
we don't no what will happen next year or the year after. A solid front office knows how to adapt to unforeseen possibilities

there's nothing to "gut" about this team. we are trash. the quicker some of you guys realize this the better lol

we are in no position to turn down premier talent.

I love everyone’s takes on kawhi and especially the grizzlies 4th pick.

But let’s be completely honest. We don’t have the assets to get kawhi, boston, lakers, cavs and every team in the top 5 draft has a better chance than we do.

And the grizzlies one, no way we can get the 4th pick/parsons for just our players lol. I’m sure they wanna swap draft picks and add parson to the trade. Probably best thing we can do is get the 4th/parsons for our 9th/frank or 9th/2019 pick (top 5 protected/a player to match salary). I’m willing to trade whoever and whatever to get that 4th pick and pray Bamba falls to the 4th.

Is everyone forgetting about the injury forecast of Kawhi?

Can someone explain to me what we know about his injury? @storyteller

It's a bizarre one fam. This is a really good timeline on it:
https://www.si.com

The injury itself is scary but he was cleared to play for a long time. His behavior is odd as hell all the way through too. The TP "mine was a hundred times worse" comment makes a lot of the locker room rumors sound like they have legs. It's kinda tough to evaluate. Either he really did his team dirty by holding out a year to protect his contract status when he was cleared to play; or his injury is worse than people think. But you can't argue with what he is when he's healthy. Kawhi's one of two players in the league I feel has a solid chance to outplay Lebron in a 7 game series (just have a bigger impact). He's that good and he's entering his prime. That's why in spite of all this noise, Boston was inquiring about a trade and probably will again. So I think he's worth trying to get, but the reality is we don't have the resources. So unless he goes full Melo on it, we don't stand a chance. This dude and KP combined though...instantly competitive.
