I’m tired of this Frank/DSJ shyt, feels so manufactured.

It’s also annoying how the Mavs getting a pass on drafting DSJ and wanting to trade him the next year, it would’ve been nonstop clowning had it been us.

And you have some clown posters in here wanting Smith and trashing Frank. Look how that back fired. :wow:

As a Frank fan, I don't why some of yall are using the DSJ trade possibilities to justify why the Knicks made the right pick of Ntilikina over Smith. Frank's somewhat regressed on defense and still remains trash on offense. As much as we want to harp on Frenchie's age, we must acknowledge that Smith is only a year older than Ntilikina and has made some nice strides playing defense and shooting despite his bone headed decision making which is typical for most young point guards. Nothing wrong with the Mavs proactively trade and trying to fetch the best trade package. Mavs could probably net a late lottery pick or an above starter for Dennis. Knicks probably a getting late first round pick or another young player stuck in limbo on their team for Ntilikina at best if we're keeping it real. :manny:

Getting Tim off the books now for Matthew's expiring deal means 2 max slots available this summer right? :childplease: Man I'm doing that deal so fast! Frank, Mudi, Burke, whoever they want is outta here.

But I want this deal, so it won't happen :sadcam:

I don't see how in any way this would be a bad look for the Knicks. Unless of course in about 7-8 years Frank develops into 9 ppg backup guard/wing with some OK defense :troll:

Honestly, the other two offers I saw rumored for the Mavs are better. Gordon for DSJ was one of the rumors and I don't see us beating that in any deal that includes THJ. Frank/THJ for DSJ/Wes is tough for me. Tim's 18 per off the books would be a big win and DSJ is a promising prospect who would give us the inside attack that we've been looking for...but he's bad on defense, has bad decision making and needs the ball in his hands to be effective (hence clashing with Doncic). Fiz would have his work cut out for him but DSJ gives you a lot of what Morant would. You combine the fact that we get back a prospect AND dump THJ...it's tough to say no to. If we lined up a trade for Lee also, that might really change this equation.

Though my two caveats are still the same. The other trade rumors beat our offer and I'd with the deadline a month out, I'd prefer to watch Frank rock for another week or two and see if the aggressive version keeps it up. Because his upside in that case changes the discussion for me.

im a frank fan but you do that deal instantly to get rid of hardaway :yeshrug:

if they didnt stretch noah id say maybe just hold onto hardaway till he expires or can trade him in his final year for another expiring, but they've positioned themselves to try to be a player this summer and so far they've done a half ass job by not clearing hardaway and lee's money. do what it takes to move them both and add 2 FAs to play with porzingis, knox, mitch and the 1st round pick.

Old Brooklyn
EEEEEE EVERYBODY BEATS THE FIZ
And Hawks eat their Young.

But that's a little over your deformed head. :sas2:

-------------------------------------------

Now, back to business.

For the brehs who are willing to trade Timmy but are still cursing out the FO for the trade kicker of 15%...

It's no where near as bad as y'all thought. It's 15% of his remaining ABSOLUTE contract years...it doesn't include his player option year.

So, according to KnicksFilmSchool, if we trade Tim at the trade deadline, the total amount of the trade kicker will be $3.6m. If he is traded in the Summer, the trade kicker will be $2.7m.

And that is divided among the remaining two years so, we are talking a spread of $3.6m over 2 years.

Apparently, it shouldn't be a deterring factor.

And who's to say he won't get taller? he still has a little more time :banderas:

We better not trade him :birdman:

Yeah, it's really tough for me to want to move dude. I think if we draft either of the top two PG's in this draft who are both beasts; he'd make a perfect fit.
Morant or Garland
Frank
Knox
KP
Mitch

That young core makes a lot of sense on paper and on both ends of the floor.
