I’m curious what knicks fans see in Morant. An overwhelming majority seems high on this kid when they weren’t nearly as high on Sexton last year.

Edit: i was really high on Sexton and I’m just as high on Morant. Just like i was high on Foxx. I love a fiery pg.
My top 5 is Zion, Reddish, Morant, Little, Hunter.

It's tough because Morant's schedule is kinda soft which probably inflates his numbers, but they're pretty nuts. Numbers aside though, it's the eye popping athleticism. Sexton and Fox were freaks too; but Fox had quickness that was pretty much incomparable to anybody and I feel like Morant's verticality is something you just don't see as well. Sexton for me fell below them on that front while still being freakish athletically. I'm also de-emphasizing the spacing need now that our starting front court projects to include two floor spacers in Knox and KP. Add in THJ (who's catch and shoot numbers along with open jumpers numbers are still promising at least) and our PG being a knock down shooter starts to look less important...and watching the College Scout bloggers rip into Morant's form is probably the biggest red flag to me (I give a pass on the TO's because of the talent around him though that's strictly personal bias).

I see you're not feeling Barrett, but personally I'd probably still take a shot on him because his tools are insane and also I've heard his work ethic and competitive edge are insane. Both Barrett and Reddish are cats that I'd love Fiz to get his hands on and try to impact the way he did Knox (especially Reddish). It's interesting because even Zion has the jumper red flag and every prospect has a few; but in our slot we can probably afford to look for the guys with weaknesses that we trust Fiz to fix.

My five is Zion, Barrett, Morant, Reddish and then spot reserved for when I get a closer look at Johnson, Culver and maybe back track to look at Garland more closely.

Still like Langford and Nas a lot too. This is gonna be another draft where I'm wishing we had a second top 20 pick because some guys are gonna slip that I view as steals.

Barrett has a level of confidence that i don’t think is warranted. I don’t think he’ll ever be as good as he thinks he is and that’s gonna be a problem on a team that’s gonna be competitive next season. Id rather him go to a team like the Hawks where he’s not taking shots away from more deserving guys.

I think we agree on the weakness being shot selection and finishing around the basket but I think he can improve a lot (especially finishing) and I'd be looking at Fizdale to reel in RJ's decision making. I think having KP at the top of the key running the actions would also promote ball movement and sharing for everyone because he's gonna demand a lot of attention with how often we see Kornet getting space to launch...I cannot wait for KP to get into that role and see what he can do; adding someone who demands attention like Barrett really intrigues me. I admit though, if his mindset didn't shift, we'd be in for some frustrations.

The more I think about it, KP will fit better as a PF. He'll be heavily protected and able to take more shots.

KP/Mitch when we go big and Knox/KP when we go "small." We'll be able to trot out a big unit that plays modern style ball and our small ball unit will measure out like a typical line-up.
