fully expect the defense to fall right off a cliff
excited for knox to start.
mudiay does nothing for me and probably the team.
fiz keeps trying to unlock something in him.

Fiz been looking funny, preaches defense but no one seems to be held accountable for plying poorly. I’m gonna give the dude time but passing on Bud looking like the wrong move as of now.

KD been his own playmaker since the last couple of years in OKC. If something keeps him away it'll be that he doesn't think we're ready to win a chip and he wants a team that's gonna be a contender right away.
i think durant kp team is a guard away from atleast makin the finals in the east:yeshrug:
but yeah, there are better options
him winnin 1 with ny will restore his reputation tho

im not gonna baby frank:yeshrug:
fitz gave him a chance to start and he fukked it up:yeshrug:
Sure, no babying but my thing is we need to put our rookies in the best position to succeed and it doesn’t feel like that’s happening. Frank and Knox need a mentor imo, they need someone who was in the league to give them personalized help. Mitch kind of already has one with Sheed. This teams lacks the vet presence that the rooks need.
is that happened against orlando?
He sat after 5-6 mins in the first and never played after. The defense was gone afterwards save for Big Mitch. Not to say Frank was doing all the defense assignments, just he was scapegoated.

My thinking on it is that Durant/KP/Mitch is a front court that you just need a game manager to handle. KD's over 6 apg this season and been a 5 apg guy all but one year since 25 years old; but I'm biased because I've been harping on KD's passing and defense being slept on for years.

But regardless, it's a pipe dream in my eyes unless he really gets caught up on the legacy argument. A ring in NY would be his version of Bron getting one in Cleveland.

the thing about frank is, his defense isnt good enough to make up for him doin nothing on offense in most games. hes a smart defender on most nights, but it isnt game changing, our defense is still trash. some ppl be actin like he kawhi or somethin

Rotation change thoughts:
- My biggest issue with the last rotation was poor spacing due to an over-reliance on two big men and I don't think this solves it. Vonleh/Mitch will still see guys doubling off of them or free roaming at least. But we'll see.

- This shift does split up the defensive talent more evenly though. Mitch is gonna have his hands full covering for the perimeter defense of Mudiay/THJ/Knox but Vonleh is in there to help him. Meanwhile putting the best PnR ball handler defender with Kanter is a good attempt to cover for Kanter's awful defense there and having Dotson help out is wise.

- The player I think this stands to benefit the most? Allonzo Trier. Assuming a second unit of Frank/Trier/Dot/Hezonja/Kanter ...Allonzo will get more opportunities in better spacing than before and the defense might get to a point where transition chances for everyone increases.

- I think Knox is in a tough spot here because he's the defacto number two option in a starting unit that I really don't trust the spacing for. But if he steps up and learns to operate in this circumstance then we've really got something.

- I don't mind Frank getting second unit reps but Fiz better wise up and let Frank handle fourth quarter match-ups with top perimeter players because Mudiay/THJ/Knox is a recipe for disaster there.

- Still waiting for Knox to get a shot at the 4 and Mitch as the lone big man at 5 for significant game time.

- Mudiay better be a better passer as a starter. He had 4 assists in his first game back and that's his max so far. He's averaging 2.3 apg to 1.7 TO's over 22 mpg...that needs to be a lot better.

- I'm nervous for Mitch and foul trouble but equally excited for the pace to pick up with this rotation.

I don't think it's Fiz. I think it's just trying to repair a train wreck.
I think a little column a and a little column b, we won’t have a definitive answer for another 1-2 years though.

Agreed, but in the case of the Magic game practically everyone was shyt.

If Russ is playing tonight the the guards are gonna get killed.
