Yea, to be fair...
If the Knicks traded away last year's 8 pick for two picks in a similar situation, we'd probably would have been able to get Donovan Mitchell and Frank.

Personally, i hate Iman Shumpert being lauded as a Knick that actually did something, and never liked the "knickstape" moniker that he helped create.
I wish everyone could drop the references to that "era" already because there wasn't much to be proud of. In fact, the players that actually did something (the 2012 team) are the ones mentioned the least.

Hornacek was bad. The FO talking about analytics made me hype, KP/Frank splits were filthy but part of that is because Horny played them infrequently. But the second part of it is that when you've got a high level defender at the point and a high level rim protector in the paint; your defense is going to prosper (offensively KP was always an anchor so anyone sharing the floor with him is likely to get an ORTG bump).

The Knicks are in advanced talks with Los Angeles Clippers assistant Pat Sullivan about an assistant role on David Fizdale's staff, per ESPN sources. Sullivan has coached with the Clippers for the past two seasons. Prior to that, he'd been an assistant in Washington, Detroit and with the then New Jersey Nets. Sullivan, a New Jersey native, coached in Detroit when Knicks GM Scott Perry was an executive with the club. As a player, he was a part of three Final Four teams at North Carolina. He also was an assistant coach for three Final Four teams at UNC. The Knicks are also in serious talks with Lakers assistant Jud Buechler, per sources, and are expected to add Memphis assistant Keith Smart as a top assistant to Fizdale.

Also, cant imagine there wouldnt be some type of awkwardness working for someone that used to work for you (Fizzy was one of Woodson's assistants in Atl) - best to avoid any potential power struggle

Ok....knicks made playoffs once in 10 years
out of all the shyt teams in NBA they have the worst future
they'll have a top 3 pick again next year then maybe be competitive in 2020 or so
