Kanter was doing a decent job on defense. Timmy just got beat by Levert on that final play. If anything the defense on the perimeter was the real issue in the game.

Worry about his actual PT instead of his minutes. He was out there late in games. That's worth something. As the season progresses, he'll eventually start every night, but don't just hand it to him if he hasn't earned it yet.

Nothing about that presents as "basic". If that was basic, everyone in the league would/should be doing it. That spin off and the general focus on defense is impressive. His eyes never appear to be off of his assigninment, which is almost troubling to me because you run the risk of getting blindsided with some of the picks being set, but he just appears to have an excellent awareness of where everyone is on the court and latches on to his assigninment. That degree of focus is typically placed on offense, so that seems fairly dismissive to relegate it to "basic" as if it's just "what you're supposed to do".

it's a pick and roll league cause its so much easier to get a good look with the aid of a screen in 2018
people RARELY isolate on their actual match up anymore. they'll rather switch for a desired mismatch...you know...what the rockets do on every other possession
franks iq and ethic to fight over screens or be disruptive on switches due to length and footwork sets him apart from every other 20 year old in the league
