The way I see it, the benefits of this starting unit show up in the spacing. Frank, THJ and Lance were the best three point shooters that could reasonably start; Burke, THJ and Frank all handle the rock well; and with the exception of Kanter they'll be able to play a fast paced game. It also serves to split up Burke and Trier, a combo that wasn't working.
My worries are defense and rebounding though. They're relying heavily on Kanter to handle all of the interior work and he's not a rim protector. Kanter might cover the boards enough in the small ball era, but a pick and roll can target him and Burke or Timmy all night.
I'm also not sure what the second unit is gonna look like. Mitch or Vonleh can be the interior defense big that the starters are missing; but I feel like Hezonja and Knox are gonna be the forwards and that's a recipe for disaster. It's better to wait and see though. I like Trier to get minutes. Trier/Hezonja/Knox defensively though? The rookies better learn fast. Idk what the second unit will look like or how Fiz will break things up...I'm curious as hell though.
