Yeah according to people that were at open practice Kanter was murdering Mitchell out there. Frank was hesitant just like last season, Timmy was retarded just lke last season and Trey-I looked really good :dame:

Can't expect a complete transformation from these cats when they're in a new system getting their first real competitive reps (and it didn't even look preseason intensity from the portions I've checked out). It's gonna take time to break habits and mold guys. The most exciting things to me on an exhibition like that are that the players all look like they're in great shape and the system plays really fast. Fiz wasn't kidding, everyone gets the ball and takes off; everyone is sharing and isolations were pretty limited.

Also Trier's athleticism kinda jumped out at me on a couple of fast breaks. He gets higher off the ground than I expected.

Knicks Fan TV was livestreaming open practice yesterday and I peeped most of it. My takeaways:

IMO Trier looks like he should make the main roster. Offensively he's better than Dot and Frank.

Frank didn't play much. If he did he wasn't noticeable. They say he may have had an injury. When I did notice him in, he didn't show me any improvements on aggression. I know it wasn't intense but still. He did hit an open corner 3 with no hesitation created for him by Burke.

Kanter was abusing Mitch in the paint. But it looked like a big bro schooling lil bro on what life is about to be like for the next 7 months. Not like "this rook ain't taking my spot". I don't think he's worried about that at all. He's definitely toughening Mitch up.

Mitch looked a lil lost on offense. But everybody was looking for him on lobs. He converted a few. I got the sense the team feels "just throw it near the rim and Mitch will go get it". He really needs to get stronger. He could do nothing with Kanter's strength. That doesn't bode well for him being the full time back up 5. It's early. I wanna see the youngin get minutes.

I think Lance played. :yeshrug:

I like Hezonjas game :ehh: He has all the tools.

Knox looked comfortable. Again, open practice tho. But he and Mario had nice chemistry offensively.

I saw more extra swing passes for open 3's this game than I've seen since the 2013 season :martin: Jeff Hornacek really sucked as a coach.
