Gained even more respect for Mills and Perry. They both squashed the Knicks as a target of agents using them as leverage for other teams trades. They essentially said "nah, we good" to Jimmy Butler. Now, all the "interest is overstated". Gotta love the media and it's agents.

It'd be interesting if they used the cap space to acquire assets from teams that need to make room and punted to 2020.

I think the way the cap works if they Max KP they won't be able to add another max in 2019 cause his contract would take the space up.

The potential for that to happen would make keeping Noah a lot more sense until they knew they were getting a player in 2019. Then again I still don't think they would equal the 30 mil max space they have this year. Not to mention keeping the current reclamation projects on the roster if they play well.

So for all intent and purposes it's 2019 or bust. If they do it well they'll be set for 2- 5 years. If they mess it up it's about 2 seasons when they could try again when Timmy's money comes off.
