I still don't like the Mitch/KP duo against small ball Front Courts, and that gives dynamic guards even more targets to try to switch onto.
Smart move in my opinion would be the only play that duo against lineups who go that big and then stagger their minutes around each other at Center against small lineups.
I feel you, I just think that Mitch has great footwork, defensive awareness and quick lateral foot speed that we really wouldn't be at too much of a disadvantage, if at all.
I mean we not talking abt some slow, plodding, oafish big with two left feet. Mitch has the speed, agility, and defensive IQ to make it work
Plus pairing KP with a big that can defend well & gobble up boards is the perfect compliment to KP upfront and brings the best out of him, along with drastically improving our team defense. I think Mitch can be that guy, or at least has the potential to be
I know its only Summer League but what MRob was able to show after close to year n half w/o playin organized ball was nothing short of amazing. It gives me a reason to be optimistic enough to believe that KP-Mitch pairing would not just be tolerable, but a formidable duo that forces most teams to adjust to us, not the other way around.
If nothing else experiment with the pairing next season to see how well it works. Its a rebuilding year anyway, wont hurt to try it out for long stretches and see whats there
