I think Fiz can get a lot more out of him assuming the recovery goes alright. I don't know how often we all talked about KP overcompensating his coverage because of Jack/Kanter but I'm glad these dudes went out of their way to illustrate it clearly. One thing I could imagine Fiz doing is pairing KP and Mitch with the intention of having players chase HARD on perimeter passes; chase them off the line and funnel them in toward the rim protection. I remember seeing the Spurs do it fairly often.
You and me on the same page. This should bode well for Frank, lots of mins to be had if the emphasis is on length and perimeter defense
Was already expecting him to play more than last season, but when he gets back, a pairing of KP + Money Makin Mitch up front with 3 guys who can defend the perimeter well should mean extra mins for Frankie Smokes.....the defensive possibilities
Unfortunately, until he's traded or waived that scenario would also likely result in consistent dosages of Lance Thomas
Especially since they let Beasley walk and (stupidly) waived Troy Will ()
But back to the positives, imagine a line up of (upon his return):
KP
Mitch
Knox
Frank
Burke
or
KP
Mitch
Knox
THJr
Frank
3+ defenders in either line up, with Knox having the tools to at least hold his own defensively, and Burke/THJr being the only known weak link. While both Burke & Timmy are both sub par defensively, they both have improved to the point that neither are complete liabilities on the defensive end of floor, and with multiple + defenders on the floor with them a lot of their weaknesses can be hidden. That, at minimum, is a far cry from and marked improvement defensively over a line up consisting of Kanter, Beasley, THJr, and Jack
Hell, depending on how he uses them in his offensive schemes the KP-Mitch-Knox-Timmy-Frank or KP-Mitch-Knox-Frank-Burke line ups might be better offensively too than any 4 vets + KP line up that Hornacek would trot out there on a nightly basis last season
Better flow, better balance, more versatile, much more promise & intrigue at the very least. Cant wait to see how Fizzy molds this young core

I still don't like the Mitch/KP duo against small ball Front Courts, and that gives dynamic guards even more targets to try to switch onto.
Smart move in my opinion would be the only play that duo against lineups who go that big and then stagger their minutes around each other at Center against small lineups.
