Someone give me the upside of this signing

He was showing signs of life the second half of last year and still has potential. I think he plays pretty decent and will be a trade chip at the deadline. I would’ve tried to get Hezonja on a 2-3yr/8 mil a year deal, because I think he has a decent shot at becoming a fringe AS soon.

Given our limitations (only offering 1 year and having to save some of the MLE to sign Mitchell Robinson), getting Hezonja is one of the better options that fits into what the FO wants to do this season. He fits the age group (23), adds some athleticism and fits in with the whole "positionless" basketball. His talent is ahead of his mental game, so it's another one Fiz might be able to get around the corner and even as he is the kid showed he can be a scorer when he's getting consistent minutes and touches this past season.

But the biggest thing here is that we offered partial MLE for 1 year to a 23 year old with upside and multiple suitors...and he jumped on it for a chance to play with Fiz. With KP, Fiz and a front office that has connections around the league; we may be actually have a destination advantage when we enter FA negotiations for the first time in a long time.

P.S. it also shouldn't ruin our tank which is also key.

Man Fiz is really coming off like a social master, people just love his energy and empathy.

why cant we buyout or stretch noah:dwillhuh:? pause

I think they will if that's what they have to do to get under the cap next offseason. But they don't plan on being FA players until next year, so might as well keep him instead of getting stuck with dead money. Next season, they'll be under the cap and looking to make a splash. They'll probably have the cap savings from a waive and stretch factored in for whatever offers they make then.

I’m seriously considering being done with the NBA (I know, who cares lol). Knicks can never win. We’ll always be shyt and we shouldn’t support this league. We should treat our team like Detroit and just say fukk it. Come back if these young dudes develop but we shouldn’t be putting anymore money into this league. Let the Chinese have it. I’ve put in too much work as a fan to have to go through this. Melo gets molested and they don’t call shyt but harden gets grazed and he gets the calls. They even moved the draft to Barclays. Let that idiot dikk head kid be the face of the fans. fukk Barclays. fukk LeBron. fukk Golden state for drafting Curry. fukk silver. fukk stern. New Yorkers should focus on street ball. Been a Knicks fan since early 90s. NBA is a shyt show and will never respect New York.
