Given our limitations (only offering 1 year and having to save some of the MLE to sign Mitchell Robinson), getting Hezonja is one of the better options that fits into what the FO wants to do this season. He fits the age group (23), adds some athleticism and fits in with the whole "positionless" basketball. His talent is ahead of his mental game, so it's another one Fiz might be able to get around the corner and even as he is the kid showed he can be a scorer when he's getting consistent minutes and touches this past season.
But the biggest thing here is that we offered partial MLE for 1 year to a 23 year old with upside and multiple suitors...and he jumped on it for a chance to play with Fiz. With KP, Fiz and a front office that has connections around the league; we may be actually have a destination advantage when we enter FA negotiations for the first time in a long time.
P.S. it also shouldn't ruin our tank which is also key.
