Durant and Kyrie are still gonna have to deal with NY media, just without the chance of becoming legends in the city if they win :umad:

The Knicks are .500 record away from the beat writers chasing that sweet clickbait headline of "Is RJ Barrett the best basketball player in NY?" to promote beef between the Knicks fanbase and the handful of Brooklyn fans scattered throughout North Jersey.

If Knicks get to .500 by a quarter of a season:

New York Post:
"RJ Barrett out to prove he's the King of New York, but can he sustain it?"

"RJ Barrett's success and what it means about an injured Durant"

"RJ Barrett out to prove he's ready for the pressure that top stars were afraid to confront."

"Sources close to Durant's camp indicate Durant watching RJ closely"

"The youth movement budding; did NY dodge a bullet not acquiring Kyrie?"

:mjlol:
And all of it would be "sourced" from bullshyt sources.

Durant/Kryie better be ready for the shyt.

Nah, I think the media is softer on the Nets than the Knicks.

They are softer...because the Nets were the little sister in grade school.

But the media is equivalent to a bunch of creeps.

Today? The Nets are the younger sister that has..."developed". These nikkas can't keep their hot take erections in their pants.

What's better than trolling the Knicks? Fueling a clout cashcow soap opera where stories are purposefully pulled out of their asses to cause beef.

And best believe...the first time Durant or Kyrie gives a condescending answer to the NY MEDIA...

That'll be an interesting flip... believe me.

Kyrie especially will get it from the media if he’s not performing the same as the nets were last year .

The Knicks young players should use this as motivation and prove to the league they aren't just trash or mediocre, but have elite talent. Robinson has the potential. Trier showed a lot of heart and Knox has potential but is more of a raw talent that needs to be slowly developed. If Barrett plays at a high level in his first year, and the veterans play well, the Knicks might make the playoffs.

RJ already let it be known that he’s build for this:mjlit:

Mitch has that chip on his shoulder and I love that ish. One thing I like about these signings is that they pretty much all play tough, attacking styles. Fiz was with the Heat and they've always had a culture of hard work and wearing teams down. The Knicks have the kind of depth to chase that sort of style too and considering they're still gonna be at a talent deficit most nights it might be the only way to overachieve.

Also, tuned in to NBATV for some summer league (I'm a fiend and Big3 basketball doesn't help) and caught their review of the Knicks offseason. It was scathing, but also terribly uninformed. This was their projection for our depth chart after FA signings...wtf is this!?

They've got Randle at C; Robinson on the bench; Bullock's not listed; Hicks is still on the roster; Ignas not mentioned; and Zo has leapfrogged Dotson who was our starter for the second half of the season once we dealt THJ (30 of 32 games started to close the season out). That makes me think they didn't watch much Knicks basketball last season (I'd say I can't blame them but this is what they're paid for). I'm not asking for glowing reviews, but if you're going scorched Earth on the Knicks you should at least recognize who their best player was last year (Mitch) and what their depth chart looked like (Dot over trier).

:mjtf: We signed Elfrid Payton?

:mjtf: When did this shyt happen?

It’s tough to make a depth chart at the moment it’s a lot of pieces. I think we’ll see many different lineups this season.

I see Randle starting at the 5 and Gibson at the 4 to start the season.

Also I need Barrett and Knox starting

National media maybe but still not as hard as they would go at Knicks and with local media not even close. Just look at how D-Lo was treated, he was the second coming in Brooklyn even though he had a bunch of fukk ups and played like shyt in the playoffs. And as soon as he was traded to GSW everybody is calling him useless.

DLo on Nets was amazing to everyone but if he was doing the same with Knicks he would be just a chucker that plays no defense :manny:

I think Kyrie and KD especially made the right choice by going to the Nets, there will definitely be a lot less scrutiny. And Kyrie and KD are two of the most sensitive and emotional players.

One of the first questions RJ was asked at the press conference was how are you going to carry this franchise on your shoulders or some shyt :gucci:

They'll avoid scrutiny, but they also won't get as much love and attention as they expected if Knicks are halfway decent. That dummy KD was shocked he didn't get as much love as Steph, he'll be for a rude awakening here.
