There's a reason we haven't re'd up a rookie since Charlie Ward. There's a reason free agents won't sign and traded players won't stay. The Knicks suffer from the incurable James Dolan virus. There's nothing to be done or look forward to until he dies.

This is dramatic. The team that plays in the same building have had great success under him as he let's the hockey guys do their thing because he doesn't know shyt about the sport. Like Jeff and Fred Wilpon of the Mets, he's too hands on with the Knicks. He needs to trust his front office going forward.

So right now, the Knicks is loaded with role players. We need a leader but I'm praying Dolan didn't have his hands in any of this because then we're fukked. If RJ and Mitch becomes stars and Knox becomes a credible wingman, we might be aight.

The encouraging/terrifying part of that is I take all of this as giving the youngins the keys.

We have Barrett, DSJ, Knox, Frank as all former top 10 picks, with 3 of the 4 penciled in as starters. A steal in the draft in Mitch. All these other teams give their lottery guys the keys and we're finally doing it (while simultaneously being clowned for not having a worthwhile core). Excited to see this play out and depressed that they couldn't get some star guidance to go with it. Front office sees these guys as the future and we've been bigging them up - time to see what they do with it. No more star fukking for the next 2 years. Strap in.

its pretty hard to stomach signing a bunch of basically replacement level players after stretching noah, trading porzingis, reading for a year about durant, etc.

i understand there's context behind every one of those situations, and even a lot of the reasoning behind the "these signings are good actually" takes but idk...they'll be lucky to win 30 games and im straight up TIRED of watching them lose every goddamn year. year after year after year. :francis:

now we have to punt hope for youth development when theyve never developed a home grown star since ewing, and listen to 2 years of giannis rumors when it has 0 chance of happening.

idk, i feel bad adding negativity to the pile here. but i woke up pretty down on them this morning :mjcry:

Stretching Noah looks worse then trading KP imo.

DSJ/ Frank or Allen
Barrett/ Zo or Dot
Knox/Bullock/Ignas
Randle/Taj
Mitch/Portis

I see a lot of offense. Still light on defensive balance but there's upside because all of Barrett, Knox, Randle and Portis can all improve there while Taj and Bullock are definite improvements. At the very least, I expect this team to be a lot of fun to watch. The simple top of the key action will look better with this balance of offense and I could see the size/attack wearing down defenses.

I'll be rooting for y'all as well.

I will certainly not be. :hhh:

Maybe this can be a step in the right direction.

The MOST important thing the knicks can do this season is install a real system. Not just the “culture” but we need to show the rest of the league what playing basketball in New York can look like.

We need to sniff out the fake news and sarcasm before we post.

I get the 2 year deals.

The Portis one is the only one that’s genuinely confusing.

Randle or Portis will likely be moved within the year. Definitely think they got a plan A and B for the 4 spot just so they could move it if/when the right the deal comes along as salary to send back.

For now, 4 man big rotation isn't the worst place to be in considering where we were last year.

300 murders a year
Taj you guys will love , 110 every night, we used to call him hard hat and lunch pail. Good mid range shooter great rebounder and defender.

Portis is hit or miss he will have stretches where he will look like a flat out star, expect a couple of games where he drops 40. He is good outside shooter. But he is inconsistent he will have stretches where he will look like he should only get 15 minutes off the bench.
