The way I see it we aren’t in position to do nothing but build the youth up the next 4 years. We are not going to be competing in that timeframe. That shyt went bust alongside KD Achilles.

Now I’m one of the quickest people on this board to call a season a dud and say tank.....

:hubie:

we don’t need to tank no more:yeshrug:

The lottery is trash.... and fixed. If we are in the worst half of the league we got a legit chance.

Next year’s draft is guard heavy and this team is full of guards, and we could grab more this FA.

RJ feels like the type of player being on a losing team will ruin. He’s never known consistent losing. Look at Knox as an example. Knox, DSJ, Dotson, Mitch, and even Frank are losing value and confidence cause of the losing

There really ain’t no second draft prospects worth the time unless they trade for Josh Jackson

You got these Brooklyn Bozos talking trash

You got these Dallas nobodies talking trash

Put some legit talent around those kids and start putting pressure on these pussies..... I mean other teams..... I got caught up and flashed back to my twenties lol

Nah, it's definitely the point. You're not getting either unless you commit 4 year deals at/or very close to the max, and this team isn't in position to do that.

I'm good, pass on both.

I do not think the Knicks after 6 awful years in a row will just play the kids(essentially forfeiting another year) when they have so much cap room to spare. I would be stunned if Russell or Randle are not Knicks in the next two weeks

double up on padlock defense as a team signature

everyone in the league is a pro but mentality is a major separator

fizz needs to put the battery in players backs to give them the attitude to play disrespectful

they need to absorb the spirit of thee.city & run with that every night fukk the scoreboard fukk the win/loss column

According to Yaron Weitzman of Bleacher Report, the Knicks would prefer to avoid signing players such as Nikola Vucevic, Tobias Harris, Khris Middleton and DeMarcus Cousins and would instead rather hand out one-year deals to guys like Marcus Morris, much like the Los Angeles Lakers did a year ago after landing LeBron James.

It's not about forfeiting another year, it's about maintaining flexibility and understanding the process. They're gonna make their play for KD, but the other option isn't handing out stupid money to the B & C free agents (where DLo & Randle land). They'll look into one year deals and entertain trades like the ones listed here :

I think the time for Knicks to think Championship is done..... again

Now it’s time to start getting these kids experience and let them grow. We missed out on this window.

RJ, Knox, Frank, Mitch, and DSJ will all be under 24 by the time a 3 or 4 year deal is done. Let them start playing to win now and try and get some playoff experience. I can’t do the math but you would want the deal to end in 3 years so they can go after a Max cat to put around most of them before they re-up.

I think their is talent on the roster but they haven’t been around guys who can carry any load besides Timmy and Kanter last year. The flip of DLo, Brogdon, and Randle too is they could get better. While it isn’t a significant chance if they do great we don’t got to look outside for that elite level talent.

If they don’t it’s cool they can move on to. Their careers and sign a last contract on other teams too. There is no rush to get a chip for them either because this is their second contract.

I'm not paying the price for D-Lo and Randle though. I think that team isn't even a guarantee to make the second round, so I'm not committing that much money to it. I'd rather get a spacing four and see if DSJ can take a leap when we finally give him normal offensive spacing. We can add stopgaps that can make us a competitive team without eating into our long term chances at better players. I don't think the player movement we've seen, forced trades and refusing to re-sign; I think the new normal will be chunk of players being available via trade or signing. We can afford to wait, keep loading up and be in a better position to strike when the next guy shakes loose. I don't want to force the fits though. I'd pass on Randle for that reason alone. D-Lo makes some sense, just isn't really my preference. I wouldn't be mad at that one though and Brogdon is my kinda player through and through. I just want to do enough that we can preserve some cap flexibility and also I want to target much better spacing than what we went through last season. Gotta get a stretch four.

This is what I'm hoping for, absorbing contracts of temporary pieces that'll help the team be somewhat competitive and gives our youngins room to grow until we could land some max players. As long as we don't rush headfirst into some retarded shyt I'm content.:manny:

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. I’m all in on Dlo, he’s the only one I would offer a max too. He’s young and fits our timeline with our young core.

Now what to do with the other 20-30mil cap. Either absorb a contract or two. Or go for two year deal with 2nd yr team option.

We would need a PF, so either offer randle a 2/40-45 mil deal with 2nd yr team option, or morris for a 2/30 mil with 2nd yr team option, same with a thaddeus young.

But the point is, give one max to Dlo, absorb contracts with remaining money or sign a PF but no more than a yr deal with 2nd yr being team option.

Dlo
RJ
Knox
Randle
Mitch

That’s a good young squad full of 23 and under players.
