“Hypothetically speaking” before all you RJ Barrett dikk riders neg me:whoa:

What picks and players would you want/expect to get to justify it.

This is great news for all of us who’ve been pleasantly surprised at all that g-league development we’ve seen recently. He’s coming to the pro squad.

Also offseason development tidbit

This says a lot. They are going all in on development and probably giving up on using the youth as pieces.

I could see the DLo and Randle Smoke making some more sense too cause they aren’t bad. They just got to defend better or be surrounded by defenders

You think a front court of randle and Robinson would mesh well?

I think Robinson can mask a lot of Randle's deficiencies.

Russell/Barrett/Knox/Randle/Robinson would be an entertaining team to watch(they won't be good, but that's besides the point)

Now this man, I trust him for development. We’ve seen the results, hopefully he has a big role.

No.... not really...... not as they are now, but they are young so there is legit room for growth.

I’ve seen young players develop a shot before so I would keep my mind open to it happening. Mitch can hide some of Randle’s defensive issues and so Randle can be a 4.

Can randle stretch the floor though?

Randle has developed enough of a 3 to keep defenses honest. He would have to go further with it to be a somewhat reliable shooter. Mitch would need to be able to shoot from the elbow to draw his man out too. In transition though those two next to RJ, Knox, DLo would be scary

:whew:

DLo, Randle, RJ and 20 mill to spread around is good enough for me for now. I think that is a 25-40 win team. I would try to put Randle on a 2 year with a 3 year team option cause that’s the next good FA.

Also I wouldn’t be mad if the Knicks take the Suns up on Josh Jackson and pick 32 for DSJ and then throw the bag at Brogdon.

DLo/Brogdon/Frank
RJ/Dotson/Frank
Knox/Jackson
Randle/Jackson
Mitch/Vet Big

That’s a nice mix of defenders and scorers and they are all under 26. Put them all on 3-4 year contracts and see if they can develop into anything as they enter into their primes. Then cut/trade the ones who don’t. Sort of build a team on transition and passing.

Apparently people say you can see him watching Frank in those work out clips

I REALLY hate the idea of adding both. I'm not particularly enthusiastic on adding either of em but one I could see off the production and age. I don't think D-Lo is a number one on a championship team and I don't think Randle is a number two on a championship team. For all intents and purposes, you'd be paying them that kinda money though. So you're paying them hoping that they'll continue to progress, paying for what they might become. Not what they are. Granted I like it better than paying a Butler or a Middleton; I'd rather eat bad contracts and add assets. Maybe you add one of those guys too, but I don't want to devote such a huge chunk of cap space into two guys that we're paying for where they're supposed to get instead of where they're at (especially not ones who couldn't play defense hard in contract years...that's scary, even THJ didn't have that problem).

Here's my first target too...

Ilyasova's contract isn't half bad and his skillset is a logical fit next to Mitch. He'd be a solid stopgap vet with rangy offense and we'd get a pick where some mocks have Samanic or Thybulle around...maybe you can swing on Bazley there too (limited footage has me extremely intrigued).

I think the time for Knicks to think Championship is done..... again

Now it’s time to start getting these kids experience and let them grow. We missed out on this window.

RJ, Knox, Frank, Mitch, and DSJ will all be under 24 by the time a 3 or 4 year deal is done. Let them start playing to win now and try and get some playoff experience. I can’t do the math but you would want the deal to end in 3 years so they can go after a Max cat to put around most of them before they re-up.

I think their is talent on the roster but they haven’t been around guys who can carry any load besides Timmy and Kanter last year. The flip of DLo, Brogdon, and Randle too is they could get better. While it isn’t a significant chance if they do great we don’t got to look outside for that elite level talent.

If they don’t it’s cool they can move on to. Their careers and sign a last contract on other teams too. There is no rush to get a chip for them either because this is their second contract.

Nah, it's definitely the point. You're not getting either unless you commit 4 year deals at/or very close to the max, and this team isn't in position to do that.

I'm good, pass on both.
