Why is Morant such a lock to Memphis? They have Mike Conley on an albatross contract that is going to take some work to move. He’s still a top 10 point guard and a guy that’s been there his whole career.

They have a hole at the wing position why would they not pick Barrett and pair him with JJJ?

All Knicks fans looking forward to Barrett just to be disappointed when Memphis picks him

In a perfect world we would take on two awful contracts for multiple first round picks and tank another year.

But I know that's impossible especially in NY. Media and some 'fans' were up in arms this season even though anyone with an ounce of intelligence knew Knicks were doing the right thing.

Ok what awful contracts are we taking that gives us high first round picks ? And again with the changes to the draft no one is trading unprotected picks . And the Knicks cleared money to get FA this year breh so if you agree with the direction the current FO was going it always included FA

Conley's contract is not terrible, two more years left and only 31 (although injury prone, but played 70 games this season). He was almost traded to Jazz this season for Rubio but I think Memphis backed out. Both Celtics and Pacers are interested as well.

And Gasol trade showed how much of a difference experienced player that plays defense makes in the playoffs (Conley gives you 20 and 6 on offense too). So they will have no issues trading Conley if they want to.

And as far as the Knicks fans and media go, it would take two highlight videos and one report that Ja's father came one summer to Harlem to buy sock or some shyt. Oh and it also helps that Ja is way better prospect than RJ and point guard which we need :heh:

I can't think of anything off of top of my head but teams look to clear cap for multiple reasons.

Can be to clear cap so they can be a player right away in free agency (like Hawks helping Nets clear just 1 year $18m Allen Crabbe for two first rounders).

Help a team lower their salary cap tax (Hawks taking Melo's contract for a first rounder and getting rid of Schroder)

Just taking taking an awful contract but with a good prospect or an unprotected pick (like Nets taking Mozgov but getting Dlo).

There's plenty of bad contracts out there from Nic Batum to Patti Mills just have to look at money and years remaining.

I know that was the plan, but if there's no superstar FA left when the dust settles why give a max to Julius Randle :beli:

We never do shyt breh
Dont be surprised
I read that our front office said NO to including the 3rd pick in any trade offers:dead:

David griffin probably hung up the phone like:heh:

Dont trade for ad because of rj barrett brehs
I don’t care about us trading for AD. I’m mad cause the league gave them Zion and now they’ve practically completed a rebuild in record time.

He isn’t better than Barrett and is overhyped
