That’s Why I Said AD Has To Commit To An Extension I’m Not Blindly Trading For Him

We’re Supposedly One Of His Preferred Destinations So If He Commits You Trade

Who Would Cry Over Mitch And Knox If You Get Anthony Davis Committed In A Knicks Uniform And 2 Max Free Agent Spots?

No fukking Body That’s Who

Y’all Wanna Open A Day Care Or Win A Championship?
If you keep Mitch, Knox and Smith as well as acquire KD and another max, why would you need to give up assets for AD, that's dumb and you're hitting another hard reset. We could just as easily be a team that could beat Toronto with 2 max free agents.

3 things:
1. All cards need to be on the table including a trade down. I agree that 3 for 8 and 10 straight up ain’t enough but that implies we could ask for more to pump into the asset collection. Plans change all the time and sometimes you get a surprise, so having every option known and planned for is just plain smart. God forbid a red flag comes up for morant and the grizz take Rj or someone has a crazy offer bc of the massive hype for RJ Barrett...being mindful of all options is just smart.

2. This is also smokescreen season. So it’s possible that the Knicks are just pumping out rumors to throw teams off. Or it’s possible the hawks leaked it. This is the rumor mill time of year, just have fun with all the combos.

3. Our scouts and perry earned the benefit of a doubt with their home run of a draft last season. Mitch made an all rookie team, Knox was top 12 in voting. Trier looked like a late first round value. I’m not saying they’re perfect, but if they truly feel some type of way...I’ll at a minimum consider their perspective.

:ehh: Great post

I have faith in the scouting department. They found Mitchell who is a legit gem, Trier who is a great scorer and could eventually be like Lou Will and rack up 6 man of the year awards, and we have Dotson and Knox who are good :ehh:

Not every top 3 pick end up being generational talent anyways, dudes like Giannis, Donovan, Kawhi, jokic, etc were taken much later and they’re great:yeshrug:

One thing I’ll say is, I’m not a big fan of gutting the roster for AD. Not a big fan of him

If (big if) we get KD and Kyrie/Kemba, we should be set with our deep roster

I knew you'd be looking for that one fam. One note I've got out of the rumors so far...Knicks brass liked Barrett, Culver and Reddish...so my guess is they're putting the wings at the top of the hierarchy of targets (coulda guessed that before the wishlist landed to be fair).

Yea. The second i got a sniff that Kyrie was a real possibility a few months ago i threw out any semblance of an interest i had in Morant.

How? Kyrie and Kevin Durant >> Kawhi and Siakum

Raptors have Lowry, Green. Gasol Ibaka, VanVleet, Powell and Anunoby., The rest of their roster is way better than the Knicks. Dotson and Robinson would be the only rotation level players on contending teams. This "core" is not that great. All in for AD or Beal if they get two max free agents :manny:

We just gonna flip 3 if we get it. R.J. ain't a great fit here either
The Knicks suck. How is RJ not a "great fit here"? :why:

Man, if we pass on RJ because the Knicks front office thinks like some of y'all and RJ becomes a superstar on the Lakers (they have the 4th pick and won't pass on him) then I hope that none of you try to walk all of this back in the future :martin: :beli:.

Same thing happened to me when we got DSJ, too much redundancy in their skillsets (and I think Morant's form leaves a lot to be desired especially off the dribble).
