I don’t think they are obsessed they probably just have a job to observe us and pick up/drop off resources. Basically space UPS/post office/truckers and some scientific observors.

They were able to cloak their vehicles but now due to the radar arrays we use now makes them more susceptible to be discovered and disrupted. They fly on so many different planet types that issues happen until they receive an update.
